What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
A map change to change some of the ice sheets from around the map into actual areas of water (for swimming), most specifically the changing of the following ice:
- Lake House Ice
- Ice next to Foundation

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Probably not.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Interesting change of surface, allowing for possible new raiding strategies or surface combat interest
- Water RP increases 100 fold (only current water is radioactive)(could be for normal RP or event)
- Fishing can be added afterwards

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Obvious use of mapper / dev time sadly less worthwhile than actual base updates or Pinewood changes
- Possibly more lag because of change in map
- Peoppe may dislike the change in surface, especially around Foundation as it may stop raiding or vehicles

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I believe this would be an interesting and cool change to surface (which is in need of changes in my opinion), I think this could expand and open up some new RP paths on surface and a small few for events and RP enhancements. I realise that should this be accepted it would still be very low down on the list for mapping work :)

THE SCP HIDING UNDER THE WATER WHILST ERT SEARCH THE ENTIRE MAP FOR THEM:

- support
slop suggestion that provides little to nothing to the server

Just swim and check there (or let SCPs drown) (you are right, this is an oversight I have not considered and would be heavily poor for SCPs doing this).

if the ice melts the snow has to aswell
Due to the action of self cooling the snow can stay, when a layer of ice and then snow above the ice freezes on the surface of dirt it can cause snow (and the ice underneath said snow) to exist on the surface even when it should reasonably melt.

Ice on top of water on the other hand is more likely to melt due to the water below not keeping the ice cool. Both of these can be seen in real life when there is a lot of snow but only very thin breakable ice layers on water.

Water in open areas? This is not going to end well for your FPS...
+ Support, disregard FPS, water cool

Fishing rp is on hold just to let you know
Glad to know it's authorised 🙏
