What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
So this suggestion will outline a few changes to assist in adding depth to the combat medic role. It will also introduce changes that logically speaking make sense.

1: Changing of the Combat Medic kit: As of right now the Combat Medic kit serves as a solid baseline but does not meet the need or intent of what a Medic requires while running around the Foundation.
-Changing primary from G-36 to PP-19 Vityaz: Currently the Combat Medics on Site-65 utilize the G-36 assault rifle and this change proposes a change to the PP-19 Vityaz. Currently no other faction or job uses this weapon and would provide a good change of pace in implementing unused weapons. Medics also in nature use lighter weapons in order to be more agile in the field of battle and the use of a lightweight sub machinegun would allow players to immerse themselves more in the role.
-Adding elastic restraints: With the new GENSEC rework Combat Medics are now able to assist more with the escorting and protection of D Class/D Block. Adding elastics to the base kit will allow medics to get rid of the annoyance of running to a dispenser or waiting for cooldown before they can fully assist in D Block operations.

2: Addition of a CL4 Combat Medic role: Currently, in medical, leadership over Combat Medics is provided by Medical Consultants who advise combat operations within the medical department. This change will take that role/responsibility away from consultants and add continuity within the Combat Medic ranks. This CL4 position will be solely responsible of the guiding and training of Combat Medics and answers directly to the Director of Medicine. This role would be extremely pivotal in future projects not only in RP but also future changes in general.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I'm sure it has been before but was not able to find it.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1: For the changing of the kit; it would add much needed changes and add a little more flavor to the community. The Combat Medic kit has been the most stagnant on the server while playing a very vital role for many departments. The addition of the new weapon adds a fun new tool for players to utilize while also serving as an RP enhancement. Elastics would also provide a much-needed piece of gear with the ever evolving of the gameplay loop.

2: Would add a new leadership position for those that love the medic role and don't want to put down their firearms and be a paper pusher. In all seriousness This change would logically make sense as Combatives would always have someone in the leadership position over them that can also perform the same duties. With the removal of semi-combative Consultants this would inject a much needed position to our Medics that can also grind in the trenches with them.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Balancing (weapons): As always with the implementation of new weapons of word balance always comes to mind. Although throughout trial phases with weaponry the PP-19 Vityaz didn't seem overly powerful in it's own sense; the content team may need to make adjustments to ensure a fair fight across the board.
Balancing (Medics): With the addition of another Combat Medic role would also implement the challenge of balancing to combat operations. The addition of how many medic personnel (both medical/Nu-7) would increase thus possibly providing balancing issues for CI.
Dev Time: Again with any new additions devs would need to implement these changes for the added role/gear

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This should be accepted due to it adds more functionality and a fun new gameplay loop. It would also give the player base a new role to strive for and give medical a needed role for the advancement of the department.

But don't expect to get elastics added to the loadout. I imagine that you will most likely probably be told to just get them from dispensers. There have been numerous suggestions to add elastics to various jobs in the past and the answer has virtually always been "No, get it from dispensers."

EDIT: Also the G36 is fine IMO, you're experiencing a skill issue if you're having problems with it

elastics seem unnecessary

CL4 combat medic yes please
+Supporttttttttttttttt
with the evolution of how the site is moving elastics are becoming a necessity to have as Medics are now able to help in the role of GSD when they are at low numbers. Geeting them from the dispenser comes with a very tedious cooldown before they are able to fully help GSD in their duties again.

+Support for sure, not gonna lie all these changes look super good and woukd be a great addition to loadouts and entertainment, as well as the cl4 position and adding more depth to the roles. Currently combat medics feel like an anomaly in the medical department.

I agree with all of these changes. combat medics have been supplementing gensec very heavily lately, not to mention that they are the primary security force in medbay. they always have to play around the dispenser elastic cooldown and it makes no sense why they wouldn't just spawn with them.

cl4 combat medic job would also be very nice considering how much the role is played. it makes no sense to be forced to have a non-combative in charge of them.

Combat Medics have been a key part of keeping D-Block running smoothly for a while now. They are need during sweeps, getting D-Class out of the line or back to the airlock — having elastics in the spawn kit would be huge for keeping that flow going. The current 15-minute cooldown is honestly kind of excessive and can make it hard to help out in D-Block if you recently died after grabbing elastics.

The rest, of course, i deeply agree with!

Please do explain as constructive feedback is always appreciative
it seems a bit out of place for them to replace the g36 with the vityaz as the vityaz seems more of a gun to replace something for CI with the whole theme of russian weapons (PKM, AK12, VEPR) whilst some weapons arent necessarily in this theme the point still stands

Gun change is not necessary, CM's loadout weapon wise is arguably the most balanced of many combative roles on the server, I like the CL4 role that Consultants could utilize and the restraints. But I don't believe turning the medical department to a more combative department purely by providing another combative role will go well. The best way to improve the department would to provide more availability to passive / non-combative RP.
