What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This change adds subzones that are staff/content set that give modifiers to XP. The intended use for this is to create zones around certain containment chambers to give more XP to the D-class, RSD and gensec, Rewarding them for testing in different locations, My inital idea is that the higher level the SCP in clearance the more rewarding the XP could be, The parameters of what faction, reward amount and other stuff could be set via vjob flags
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
To my knowledge no.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Encouragement to test outside of areas like LCZ, which lets new players experience more of the map.
D-class aren't submitted to an endless loop of go to 1025, Get credit, Read till death.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Development time
May just be abused by people who will begin to sample there more frequently.
Setting the zones themselves could be difficult due to CC's shapes
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Currently the way new players seem to get all their research XP is not by experiencing anything outside of inanimate objects, but by testing repeatably on SCP-1025, I think this is damaging to their experience since they don't have to deal with the risks of dealing with another player, nor do they take time to learn things like the HCZ layout, LLCZ layout or just have the chance to experience a different side of roleplay.
