What does this suggestion change/add/remove: This allows researchers or those who work with SCPs to credit them as if they were D-Class.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?: I don't believe so.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. Give SCPs a reason to comply with testing and sampling.
2. SCPs have a much easier time getting experience.
3. Less SCPs afking on job.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1. Possibly less people playing SCP due to experience being easier to get.
2. Possible experience farming between researchers and SCPs.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This would make it much easier for SCPs to gain experience instead of having to wait for breach timer, this would be a reason to flag on when requested by researchers. I think this would lead to better rp between researchers and SCPs.

Unfortunately, this has already been discussed to death.
I retract everything I've ever said about Content responses. At this point, clearly elucidating denial reasons does not deter people from making new suggestions and is just a colossal waste of their time, my apologies. I get now how it's a pretty Sisyphean task to get people to understand that you won't accept something.

There is also the crediting clause from the FAS:
Crediting: We will no longer accept crediting (XP) based suggestions unless there is an exceptional reasoning behind this.
My stance is unchanged from the last time we went over this, see second link for more info. I hope the first is still slated to happen at some point, but I'd understand if it's been scrapped with concerns of chem & XP farming issues.
+/- Neutral

Oh ok, I tried looking it up to see of its been suggested before but I didn't see anything, hopefully since that first one was accepted it'll be implemented eventually.

I would be nice if there was a list of approved suggestions that havnt been implemented yet so this sort of thing doesn't happen, there could also be one for denied suggestions for the same reason. Having just one folder of resolved makes it a bit cluttered.

How would researchers !credit dangerous SCPs? Only D-Class are supposed to go near them. I suppose you could !credit [steamID]...
Still, this would be a good change because it's really difficult to get SCP XP early on. Most people are earning early SCP XP by just roaming around as 999 or 2295, but the later SCPs rely much more on cooperating with researchers, the only early SCP setting people up for this is 457. I think this change would encourage people to do a better job when they flag on.

That being said, I think people will just ritually !credit. Regardless:

Major +support. That early scp xp grind is awful. Just need to communicate a better way of crediting the more dangerous scps/scps with more cramped rooms. Also remove scp crediting from contagious scps like 049-2s 409-2s and 008-2s. There isn't going to be any "abuse" as long as the cool down is reasonable if not a little lengthy. You could even make it so lower level scps don't get that much or have a higher cool down so that little trolling groups don't get on and farm scp xp for access to the dangerous stuff.

Seems fair, the only other way to reliably get scp xp now is the Halloween/Christmas collectibles.
Breaches can be inconsistent in the amount, based on SCP (if it can even breach), time of day, even luck, skill etc etc.
If class-D and GENSEC can get credits for partaking in a test, I dont see why SCPs couldnt, but you'd need a way to credit them without looking at them at close range, so something like !credit SteamID as suggested above would work

Previous suggestions either in the threads I posted or linked back to upwards through raising past discussions in those discussions have raised ideas for crediting SCPs indirectly, such as !crediting the containment box or doing !credit <STEAMID>

The actual mechanic of crediting the player on the SCP is probably doable - Definitely not without effort, but there are existing ideas that could be trialled to determine functional feasibility - The primary concern that I've seen consistently raised in response to the idea by Content or Staff/Devs otherwise close to this design process, is that SCP XP is deliberately designed to be difficult to get as a method of balancing SCP progression. And by making XP easier to obtain, you permit players to be able to progress faster, which was believed at the time that it would disrupt that balance.

Obviously there's a case that these past suggestions happened a while ago and that circumstances may be different that could permit SCP crediting; Although there is the (hopefully still) planned SCP credits for sampling - But I personally will not expect anything, because as far as I'm aware, the relevant aspects of this are roughly the same as they were back then? And if so, the same reasoning will probably still apply. 😔

I myself, am somewhat surprised that this has not yet been closed because of the FAS clause I mentioned.
