" What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why. "​

I'm Applying for the Ethics Committee Member position.​
I like the creative freedom I get with being an ECM, along with creating scenarios other individuals can also enjoy. Along with that, unlike my prior experience I wish to achieve more this time round. Last time I didn't get the chance due to severe burnout kicking me in the head, and this time i'm certain I can achieve more.​
" What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee? "​
Despite my prior experience in the Ethics Committee having been on the US site, I know overall I didn't introduce much into the space of the us site. For what I lacked in policies I made up for in aiding with conflict resolution and story crafting. I aided in the resolution of conflict between Site 65 and the GOC, despite some people just either unintentionally or purposely sabotaging my efforts. Along with acting as a mediator between departments. My time as an ecm was short-lived due to burnout, and as everyone knows I hosted my leaving event... It was meant to be a boss fight, not a civil war...​

On the UK server, i've been working to give as good of a first impression as I can. I've already aided in crafting rp based scenarios with RSD and Medical, along with some MTF's. I only with to expand upon these story lines, to offer more chances for newer individuals to be included. My professionalism has improved even more so than the last time round due to working in the service industry. Putting my foot down on issues is now much easier, less stressful.​

" What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP? "​
- One of the responsibilities is to look into research proposals and cross testing requests to confirm that the test itself adheres to the Foundation Legal Codex, from both a legal and ethical manner. For instance, The Ethics committee will refuse tests that include torturous actions towards the anomalies, or risk to site security and staff. This is to ensure there are minimal or no fatal injuries to staff or D-class personnel. In regards to testing, the Ethics Committee are permitted to approve both sampling and cross testing. This is only if necessary, or if Executives or RSD Directors aren't on site. They must always ensure any documents they overview and accept are done to a professional standard.

- Conflict resolution between site staff is another duty, however it tends to be more so in mediation. The Ethics Committee works closely with ISD to aid in resolving these issues that arise.

- Ethics members are permitted to call a facility wide evacuation of staff and personal, Code Black, this could be in instances where ERT is called in as there are multiple breaches of dangerous anomalies. If the situation worsens, the Ethics committee members have knowledge of the [REDACTED]-[REDACTED]. They are also able to Authorise AA to MTF units to aid in breaches. In Cases where SCP-008 Breaches inside d-block Ethics Committee Members are able to authorise a D-class mass term to contain it. Mass term is only ever utilised in cases where d-block has been compromised and control has been entirely lost due to SCP-Breaches.

- It’s the Ethics member responsibility to look out for the facility and perform damage control to ensure the facility’s secrecy and safety. This could be in a logistical manner, such as damaged equipment, or information leaks that could result in panic amongst the sites lowe ranking staff. Panic can lead to rash action, thus causing more harm to the staff.​
" What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?) "​

- The applications ECM's tend to handle are that of Directors of ISD, O1 Commanders ECA's and ECM's, both are typically done through a vote. And only if necessary will they intervene in other roles.​
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee character and what storylines they would be involved in:​

[ The air is cold, as the midnight chills set in. A smaller form manifests from the darkness set by the trees around this clearing in pinewood. ]

` What a nightmare! Enforcer never told me of her little dimension hop! `

[ A frustrated voice pouts as the darkness manifests into its form, a slender quadrupedal form, two sets of misty wings manifesting from its back. Its tail sways with a ring around the feathered tip. ]

` I should be fine to roam, its highly unlikely the coalition here can connect to the tracker hah! `​

[ The cheerful little entity exclaims, a slight prance in its step as it moves forward. ]​

` Onwards! sneakily- stealthily! and there won't be any conceque-`

" You aren't meant to be here, Andromida. "

[ A stern tone calls out, as heavy footsteps approach. The entity, Andromida, lets out a slight screech as she's lifted from the ground by the scruff of her neck. ]

" You could jeopardise my mission! You're safety! What are you doing here. "

` Enforcer i'm sorry! I missed you ok?!? I was so bored! I cant do anything! `

[ Andromida attempted to argue. ]

" And what if HE finds you? You know his hounds are always prowling on the hunt girl! "

` I-... I'm sorry ! I w...was lonely- I don't like being alone... `

[ The Enforcer takes a breath to calm her nerves as she places the entity down in the snow. ]​

" I know... Where is your guardian?.. Has she gone missing?.. "

` She didn't return from her mission... None of them did- I got scared so I went to search! I-... I couldn't find them... `

" I see... Alright... New plan... "

[ The enforcer would ponder for a moment before snapping her fingers, the ring on Andromida's tail vanished. She would kneel down to the young entity. ]

" I have an idea, but you aren't going to like it... "

[ Andromida looks to the Enforcer with a concerned expression. ]

" I will order some of my crows to remain with you, from there I need you to go east. Find the wild forests there, and hunker down. I know some entities lurk around those areas, so you have a food supply. When I get the chance I will find you, and from there we can find a permanent solution... Alright? "

[ This plan wasn't full proof, they both knew it, but Andromida agreed. ]

` U...understood! At least I wont be alone.. `

" Good.. Be safe alright? Now go. "
" I will cause a distraction here little raven. Fly high, higher than the clouds. You'll evade their sensors. "

[ Multiple crows appeared from the treeline floating, mimicking a flying motion. They would follow the small entity as she took flight. The Enforcer phazing into a cloud of black feathers, alarms soom blaring in the distance. ]

[ In the dense thicket, another entity watched. Its beaded eyes blinking slowly... A low grumble followed before its form vanished into the ground. ]​

You've shown that you're more than capable of creating and carrying RP, your leadership abilities are superb and you're experienced enough to get this position. I wish you very good luck with your application.
 
Coral, you are a good roleplayer, and a nice person. I do feel, however, you need more time on UK before going for a CL5 position such as Ethics. You have been an ECA on UK, but few other roles, and more time would help you understand the differences between the US and UK atmosphere and community. Your current lack of understanding is apparent in your description of the Ethics Committee's approach towards testing. On the UK server, they are not involved in any sort of authorisation, bar the use of 3+ D-Class. Going for a more managerial role on UK is also not a bad shot, it would allow you to prove your ability to manage OOC responsibilities alongside RP generation, which isn't something you are able to show that well in the Jr CL4 role that ECA is.
Your application also lacks a lot of information regarding the Ethics Committee's purpose within lore. Regarding RSD and Ethics, Ethics do not particularly care about the ethicality of the test (ironically enough). The only thing the Committee cares about is if the ends justify the means. Ethics are process driven. They only care about how something is done, not why. You have mentioned absolutely nothing regarding Primary Action, the "cold not cruel" mentality that Ethics has, or anything regarding Ethics being the force within Foundation that mediates itself. This is, arguably, the most important characteristic of Ethics. Additionally, Ethics have no responsibility for performing damage control and "ensur[ing] the facility’s secrecy and safety". That's... just not something the Committee does. That's a GSD or SA duty, if anything.

I don't actually like writing this, as I do quite like you and you're a genuinely lovely person and a pleasure to chat with.

But I agree with all the points Malia made, I think you need more time to learn how UK operates and to develop yourself on UK, I think in time you will be a great pick, I just feel as if you're rushing and don't fully understand the committee's purpose in lore. I feel if you gave SA or stayed at ECA for a bit of a while longer, you'd develop into a fantastic ECM pick

I disagree with the point that you haven't developed yourself on the UK server. I can attest that you have made a huge impact already, brightening and assisting existing RP and creating exciting and fun scenarios yourself.
I think it's important for someone holding a role such as this one to not drive a disconnect between ranks, and you have shown yourself to be talkative and helpful to everyone, no matter who they are.
Hearing your opinions on tests and how you approach the research department is a very refreshing mindset, and I would love to see you in this much-needed role. I'm sure you would do fantastic things with it!
 
To everyone who's concerned with my applications issues, I'm more aware than I was and am actively educating myself to ensure IF I do get the role. I can properly act within it with a much better understanding of the expectations of what is needed of me.

I wont be editing anything, as that is dishonest. I just wanted to make it clear that I'm aiming to ensure all concerns are rightfully honoured.

I can't be asked to read the application, however my interactions with you today during RP was amazing. You never really broke character, had a consistent character view and had your own IC opinions over things. It's good to keep these in mind and keep it consistent with any future character interactions. Your ECA character was interesting to interact with.

As for the only thing I could be asked to read about in the application, the lore seems completely unrelated to your character from what I could tell but I don't have the insight into the backstory more than you do.

I won't be giving a + or - support as I feel like those responses really don't mean much, but I have very little feedback to give but to continue to improve. A lot of the responses here imply you don't understand the role too much, but that's not for me to judge. Good luck on your application!
