Was discussing this in mess hall with a few other people and I was thinking about making a suggestion but before that I just wanted to run a poll and see what folks thought about it first. When I say the "3 questions/3 rolls rule" in the poll question, what I'm referring to is that prior to Torture RP rules being what they are now, which is torture for as long as you like and the tortured individual needs to give realistic responses, there was a rule in place where people being questioned were required to respond to at least three questions (accompanied by torture methods) if they failed their /roll 100's.
i.e. -
CI: Who is O5-1? *places your hand in liquid nitrogen* (CI then does /roll 100 in chat and gets an 84)
DEA: (does /roll 100 and gets an 85) Kill yourself.
1/3 questions.
I seriously encourage RPing out those methods instead of just typing them out to be fair, but the reason why I'm posting this poll is to understand public opinion on Torture RP.
As it stands, it can become rather weird and awkward to respond to when someone chops your arm off or sears a brand into your chest- what are you supposed to do, yell into your microphone? Landlord is gonna kick me out if they hear someone screaming from my apartment again. I do understand that the intention of removing the 3 questions/3 rolls method was to encourage more RP to be taking place instead of a text conversation but from my experience, people either don't take it seriously or just lie.
It's not an impossible task, you'll see some folks who can RP it out because they're experienced RPers and know how to keep the flow going but in general practice for Joe Schmoe, it's an awkward experience to have to consider how to respond to being virtually tortured on the fly- do I lie and see what they think, if they keep torturing me then should I break, should I just give them what they want immediately, does my rank and experience affect how I'm supposed to respond in terms of how easy it is to break me, so on so forth.
