What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Allows changing the display color for SCIPNet computer screens to other colors (preferably white, red, blue, and even yellow,) entirely client side of course.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Color options that may be easier on the eyes.
Easier time reading documents on some colors (especially white on a black background.)
Accessibility for players with vision sensitivities or color blindness.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
I am not sure how color options could be a bad thing if it does not affect how other players see the computer screens.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
Greater accessibility for players is never a bad thing, especially considering this would have no bearing on other players' own view. More options is just a good thing in this case and makes using SCIPNet a more comfortable experience when it is used. Implementation should be possible considering GOIs already have their own color-coordinated computers (Foundation with green and CI with orange,) just a change allowing players to set their own colors at their leisure. This is also similar to the ability for players to change their cursor on the computers.
I would say offering a set color palette for options rather than a color wheel would feel more user friendly and would be realistic with the era of computers in the world.
Here are some edited images to picture what the Foundation SCIPNet computer screens would look like in different colors:
