What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Makes all whitelisted (MTF, DEA, ISD, etc... anything that requires a test/application to get) roles on the server spawn with bodycams already attached. Bodycams stay on after respawn just like current roles with automatic equipped bodycams.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not sure if this has been suggested before, but it will allow players with whitelisted roles to have an easier time dealing In-Character issues.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
1. Whitelisted roles are expected to respond to their respective emergencies immediately. Removing the need to manually equip/buy a bodycam ensures they are ready to go the moment they spawn.
2. Whitelist-level Foundation members would realistically be required to record their interactions on the job for work related data, leading to more roleplay.
3. Players (and staff) can use bodycam footage as In-Character evidence for IC punishments, giving ISD+AO more to do which keeps players immersed rather than constantly jumping into staff sits.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
1. Players might use the existence of bodycams to powergame situations where they shouldn't realistically have had a clear view of an event, though this is usually managed by server rules.
2. Some players might find it annoying if they prefer a different gear loadout.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
This suggestion should be accepted because it bridges the gap between an IC necessity and immersion. Whitelisted players are held to a higher standard of behavior and responsibility, providing them with the tools to document their actions automatically ensures that standard is met without slowing down the pace of the game. It reduces the prep time in going to dispensers for bodycams and allows the playerbase to focus on playing the game rather than forgetting they don't have a bodycam on to deal with IC things.
