Time zone: BST (british summer time)
Character name(s): Joseph Timberlane
Civilian name: Joseph Timberlane
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): SCP-RP UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes.
-
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: N/A
-
Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?: I have recieved a warn for RDM, a ban for misconduct (I believe it's because I said the word molest towards someone during a fight) And a day ban for LTARP (i was being too loud and had to get off my computer while i was being arrested)
-
Why are you applying for Medical Consultant? Because the medical wing is my most preferred wing to work in, and I take great pride in trying to assist others, and help maintain their health and wellbeing, and by having a role like this, I believe it'll offer me more opportunities to learn and grow these skills. I have had nothing but good experiences with the medical staff there, as they have been cooperative, kind, understanding, and helped me clearly understand how to perform my role to the best of my abilities.
I want to become a medical consultant so I can offer the same degree of assistance to other members of medical, and help new members of medical understand their duties and feel comfortable in the department as best as I can.
-
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?: I have experience in both senior doctor and combat medic roles, have performed surgeries, performed some physical and psychiatric evaluations, and I am confident in treatment of diseases, broken limbs, and other ailments. I feel like I am able to take charge of stressful situations and try to come up with out-the-box solutions, and often try to encourage roleplay scenarios where applicable, while also using my personal knowledge of medicine to amplify this. Additionally, I have helped organise response efforts during some events, such as the bird flu crisis, where I helped organise first quarantining, treatment, and monitoring efforts for those effected by the disease.
-
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:

Kidney replacement: After finding a suitable donor for the patient and prepping them for surgery. It is VITAL that the doner matches the patient's tissue and blood type, as to reduce the likelyhood of rejection as much as possible. Once these checks are performed and the donor is confirmed to be a suitable match, the patient should be prepped for surgery, surgeons should scrub in, and the patient should be put under anesthesia.

After this, the new kidney will be placed into the incision area made, and appropriately connected to their circulatory system. After which, the incision will be sutured and sanitised, the area and tools sterilised, and the patient moved into recovery, and monitored for any side effects or rejection of the new organ. They should also be administered a regular dosage of immuno-suppressants, to furthur reduce the likelihood of organ rejection. If organ rejection occurs, the kidney may need to removed, opting to treat the patient using regular dialysis sessions.
-
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?: Train Medical trainees, ensure that medical staff are performing their duties correctly and effectively, approve of medical projects and relative documents, perform surgeries and credit medical staff for exemplarary work.
It is also important that a consultant helps ensure that in the event of crisis, that medical staff are organised, calm, and able to work to meet the crisis at hand, by guiding the collective efforts of treating the crisis. As a junior senior role, A consultant is responsible for the actions of lower ranking medical staff, and should ensure that medical staff peforming malpractice or other misdemeanors, should be punished appropriately.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in: Joseph Timberlane during his civilian life has always had an interest in the medical field, be it through his personal studies through reading books, or by attending a medical course at college to pursue nursing.
His passion for medicine, both animal and human, has always outshone any of his passions, and he makes that very clear with the pride he takes in his knowledge and work. When he joined the foundation, he often showed interest in the more animal-like anomalies, although it wasn't particularly his field, he still took his time to read up on them in his spare time, when not seeing to sick personel, filling out paperwork, and whatever other tasks were set for him.

He is most confident in surgery generally, as he is typically slow paced in evaluations, although he can still get them done. He is proud to be at the senior role he is now, and encourages others to aim high too, as it makes him happy to see other members of medical get higher roles, and become more confident in their work. (surgical storylines and such would probably be his speciality, although he also does like wandering around site and helping, despite the risk sometimes.)

(let me know if I missed anything, this is my first time applying for something like this, and i'm a little nervous.)

Advertising your application isn't a smart move, usually a reason to deny someone.

The application itself is lacking some key points. You could expand a bit more upon the responsibilities, why you're suitable and why you're applying. Your current answers are 1-2 sentences long; usually a slightly longer answer with more reasoning does better.

oh of course, didn't mean to make to make that seem like advertising, was just excited and in the moment. Should i edit the current application, or make a new one?

Edit 1: Added more detail into most segments, corrected some grammatical errors, and provided more context and explanation hopefully. Also provided what I believe to be my Vtime in a screenshot.

Edit 2: Added total Vtime alongside monthly vtime.

- I personally dont know you too well
- I havent really seen you that often (probabbly because i dont play medical that much anymore)
- From what alex said aswell, advertising your application wasnt really the smartest move possible

What makes me give this a - 1 is the fact that you have had 0 whitelisted roles before.

What i recommend doing is firstly:

Joining a MTF
Join CI (for experience)

For mtf try to go to atleast NCO

//////////////////////////////////////

Other than that, i think youd make a great candidate for consultant and i wish you the best of luck with your future apps :)

Of course, thank you for the feedback! Honestly in the past few days I’ve gained way more experience than I realised I didn’t have, and I’m also starting to be more active :)

As someone who also applied for consultant with 0 whitelisted roles, this honestly baffles me a bit. Neither of the roles you mentioned have anything to do with the position being applied for, so I fail to see what having experience in them will accomplish toward this role. If you are going to give someone advice, please make sure the advice is accurate and relevant.

Being excited is understandable, but please refrain from this in the future.

Joining a MTF
Join CI (for experience)
"Join combative role for non-combative experince"
Playing MTF/CI will not give you insight on how medical operates, playing Sr Doctor would, but I do get what you mean Sushi, Experince does go a long way!

Either way, Good luck! And do send in your Vtime as soon as you can!

I believe I did, attatched it to the document, but just in case, i'll send it here again :D I'm not sure if this is the way to get my TOTAL hours, but this is what i believe is correct.

Consultant is a Junior CL4. You need no experience (except in the department of the Jr. Cl4) to get it. This is stated in the requirements section:

MTF NCO / CI also have absolutely zero relevance to the Department of Medicine.
