Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?

I've been playing medical for the past 3 weeks now and honestly I've been enjoying it a lot more than I expected. I like being useful in an active RP situation and just being around when people actually need help. At this point I feel like I've gotten comfortable enough with the basics that I want to take on more responsibility instead of just sticking to the same routine, and i think that Consultant feels like the next step for that.

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:

I've held a good amount of whitelisted and CL4 roles before (Executive Researcher x2, Nu-7 LT, GENSEC Captain, ECA x2, etc.) so I'm quite used to being in positions where people rely on me to lead/play a major role in RP and to help others out when they need help. I also just genuinely enjoy the medical side of the server more than I expected to (as I said before), especially the surgery/operation RP, and I want to get more involved and specialize myself on that.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:

I really like doing operation RP, surgeries especially, so I'll go with a craniotomy (and I RP'd this today aswell :D). Basically the patient gets sedated and strapped down first, then you shave and clean the area you're cutting into. After that you open up the scalp, use the bone saw to get through the skull, and set that piece aside so it can go back on later. Once that is done, you would do whatever the actual procedure calls for, whether that's removing something, checking for damage, etc, while keeping an eye on vitals the whole time. After you're done, the skull piece goes back on and you stitch the scalp back up. It's probably my favorite kind of RP scenario to run because there's a lot of room to actually roleplay it out properly, and I'd like to specialize as a surgeon and keep getting better at running these kinds of scenarios for other people in the medical department too.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:

A big part of the job is training. Consultants are responsible for teaching new doctors and combat medics the basics, and handling licenses for things like Nu-7 and other medical personnel, making sure people are actually ready before they're given that license.
They are also the ones who help keep the department's documents in shape, whether that's writing up new procedures, fixing old ones that don't make sense anymore.
Day to day, Consultants also work under the DoMs to keep medbay organized, sending combat medics and doctors to wherever they're needed in an active RP situation, and stepping in to give guidance whenever a doctor or medic isn't sure how to handle something.
One thing they are also responsible for is SCP-500. Since it's kept in medbay, part of the job should be making sure it's properly guarded and not just sitting around unsupervised. Any experiment involving SCP-500 should need a Consultant's approval first.
As for my own specialism, I'd want to focus on surgery. I want to help set clear standards for how operations are run in medbay, and get more staff comfortable actually doing surgery RP instead of steering away from it.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
[JUST A HEADS UP, MY CHARACTER HAS DIFFERENT "ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSES" THE BEGGINING OF THE STORY IS ALWAYS THE SAME (my lore in the beggining and starting off as a Executive Researcher, and then going for ECA, and then 2 years of disappearance, after that it may differ from other characters (which are the same))]

SUMMARY OF PRIOR EVENTS

Miyu 'boku' ██████, was born in Portugal to a mother who worked within Foundation support staff. Her father, ████ ██████, had abandoned the family early in Miyu's life, later confirmed to have defected to the Chaos Insurgency, where he rose to a field operative position. At the age of 16, the Foundation made contact with Miyu, identifying her academic profile as a potential asset. She accepted, and over the following years climbed through the Research Department, eventually reaching the rank of Executive Researcher at Site-65.

During a large-scale Chaos Insurgency raid on Site-65, Miyu encountered her father in the field for the first time. What followed was a prolonged one-on-one confrontation that left both parties severely injured. Miyu made the decision to terminate him. No hesitation was recorded. The Ethics Committee, led by Chairman 'Eidolon', took note of this and shortly after extended an offer to Miyu to join as an Ethics Committee Assistant, an offer she accepted.

The Chairman of the Ethics Committee aswell as it's members noticed Miyu's bravery by killing his own father with no remorse for the greater good of the facility.
'boku' in January 20th of ████, was kidnapped by a Mobile Task Force █████-█, taking him to see the Chairman of the Ethics Committee, 'Eidolon', aswell as a member of the Ethics. Miyu was scared, panicking, was he being ambushed by the CI group again? Since he was the new Executive Researcher on-site, it would make sense CI were kidnapping him.
As he arrived at the ████████ Room, they unblindfolded Miyu and started recording the conversation.

'Eidolon'
: Hello, Miyu.

Miyu : Eidolon?

'Eidolon' : Yes, it's me. We have been watching you recently, you shall not worry, you have been doing really great, how are you enjoying Site-65?

Miyu : Uh? I'm confused, why was I kidnapped? Uh... Yes... Everyone is great... Yea, everyone seems to be... Uh... really cool... I'm still really confused Mr. Eido...

'Eidolon' : Calm down, it's only safety measures, nothing really personal. However, I'm satisfied to hear that you've being enjoying your stay. We have been watching your steps, your researches, your documents, we saw that incident between you and your father.

Miyu : I needed to defend myself, it was either him or the foundation!

'Eidolon' : I get that don't worry, you're really brave. Moving on to what really matters, I brought you here because the Ethics Committee have seen great potential on you, and we are offering you a bigger spot in the foundation.

Miyu : Can you explain to me what is it about?

'Eidolon' : Being our assistant, upholding the CoE, being ethical, making sure everyone remains ethical. I'm not going into much detail but you've probably seen some of my assistants.

Miyu : Can I still do my experiments as an Executive Researcher? It would be a shame if I couldn't...

Member of the Ethics : Yes, you can. Not only that, you can also supervise experiments to make sure they are ethical.

'Eidolon' : Exactly.

Miyu : It would be an honour to serve the Ethics.

'Eidolon' : Wonderful. Mr. ████████, escort Miyu to the Server Room, and explain his duties, would you?

Member of the Ethics : Yes, of course. Congratulations, Miyu. I will go through your training now.

Miyu served as ECA for several months, performing her duties with consistency and professionalism.

Then, she disappeared.

PERIOD OF ABSENCE: ██/██/2024 - ██/██/2026
Duration: Approximately 2 years
Status during absence: Untracked / Presumed Inactive

Following her time as ECA, Miyu formally requested an indefinite leave of absence from Site-65. The request was approved without much pushback, her record was clean, her contributions documented. No one expected she wouldn't come back for two years.

What very few people knew was why she left.

After killing her father during the CI raid, Miyu had buried the questions. She focused on work, on the Code of Ethics, on being useful. But over time, the silence became louder. She needed to know who he really was. What he believed in. Why he chose the Chaos Insurgency over his own family. Whether there were others like him, people she might be connected to without knowing it.

So she left.

For two years, Miyu operated alone. No Foundation support, no official sanction. She moved through CI-adjacent locations, using skills picked up from years on-site to conduct deep cover infiltrations, slow, methodical, ghost-like entries into CI outposts and safe houses, never engaging unless forced to, always prioritising documents over confrontation. She funded herself through odd work and moved between countries, following threads that always seemed to lead somewhere promising before going cold.

She came back empty handed.

Whatever records existed about her father's time within the Chaos Insurgency had either been destroyed, moved, or were buried so deep that reaching them alone was simply not possible. She found fragments, a name here, a location there, but nothing that gave her the closure she was looking for. Nothing that answered the real question.

She returned to Site-65 quietly, in the early hours, with nothing but a bag and two years worth of CI documentation she had collected along the way, none of it personally relevant, but potentially useful to the Foundation regardless.

REINSTATEMENT REQUEST LOG
Date: ██/██/████ | Site-65 | Medical Wing, Office of the Director of Medicine

Miyu didn't request to be reinstated to anything at first. She didn't want the Ethics seat back, not really, not after two years chasing ghosts and coming home with nothing to show for it. What she wanted was something simpler: to be useful without needing anyone's forgiveness for the time she'd lost.

She started picking up shifts as a doctor, quietly, without telling anyone who she used to be. Most of the newer staff didn't even know she'd once been ECA. She liked it that way. For the first few weeks she just worked, doing psych evaluations, running basic checkups, staying out of the spotlight.

Then came a containment breach. Medbay got cut off from the rest of the site, two doctors were already down, one bitten by SCP-682 and another sliced up by SCP-076, and there was a stack of critical patients with no surgeon around to help them. Miyu stepped in. She ran three surgeries back to back, on people she'd never even met, using techniques she'd picked up from patching people up in the field during her two years off the grid. All three of them survived. The Director of Medicine, Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne, filed a report on it before she even knew Miyu's full name.

A meeting followed not long after.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne
: So you're the mystery surgeon from the breach. Three operations, no assist. I'm impressed, honestly.

Miyu: There wasn't really time to wait around, Director. People needed help.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne: [laughs] Fair enough. I did dig up your file a bit, though, Executive Researcher, Ethics Committee Assistant, then two years of just... nothing. And now you're running triage under a codename half my staff don't even recognize.

Miyu: Wasn't trying to hide, exactly. Just didn't want the whole "she's back" conversation before I even knew if I still fit in anywhere.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne: Well, judging by the breach, I'd say you fit in just fine. So what brings you to my office, then?

Miyu: I'd like to join Medical properly. Not as a favor, I want to specialize in surgery, and I want to actually be part of running things here, not just filling in when there's an emergency.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne: Consultant. That's a decent jump from a Sr. Doctor, you know.

Miyu: I know. I'm not expecting it handed to me, I just want the chance to earn it.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne: [smiles] You kind of already started earning it during that breach. Alright, Consultant, but you'll shadow our senior surgical staff for the first month, just so everyone gets comfortable with you. Sound fair?

Miyu: More than fair. Thank you, Director.

Dr. Caitlyn Beauchêne: Don't thank me yet, thank me after your first full shift. Go get scrubbed in, we've got a board full of patients waiting.

YES! Boku is knowledgeable, approachable and friendly. also one of the reasons I decided to stick around on the server was the most normal medical RP after being punched by a 457 victim.

Boku is one of the most amazing player on this community, we have done several rps together (Whatsapp Shampoo and PROJECT: Zomboid are the main ones)
He is really friendly and he does medical roleplay like no one, this week I had to go to medical for two reasons and he always roleplayed it so well and it was really engaging.
Also when he played Sr Researcher he helped me a lot do my first researchs and not get lost in building.

He is really a good candidate for Consultant.
