Removing the Commanding Officer job was a complete disappointment, given the size of their regiment and the amount of CO's they have i'm surprised they don't have more job slots. They used to have a Mossberg but that got removed. So it would be nice to see it return for the Commander.
Base model refers to the entity model, which is what requires approval.
Changing clothes and materials generally doesn't require it as long as it looks like the job/faction you're playing.
In this instance you would be 100% fine using it as it looks like a UNGOC Medic.
This interaction can easily be done by ERT asking what's breached and a surviving foundation member giving them the list in character through communications.

I speak from experience when I say that the Alternator is complete hogwash of a weapon, and is more treated as a second pistol to the UNGOC Chemist and R&D jobs.
