What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion would make it so that when an arrest is preformed, the arresting officer would receive 600xp (same as a researcher credit) for the arrest.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not to my knowledge

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Gives ISD a better way of gaining xp rather then just activity rewards. To my knowledge that is the only way ISD can pretty much get xp (besides credit from a superior or combat)
- Encourages more people to take on the role of ISD now that there is a way to readily progress in-game

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- Could lead to more unnecessary or false arrests in order to gain xp

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I think this should be accepted because the positives vastly outweigh the negatives. Lets say someone is false arresting someone, the xp factor isn't going to really change much because if someone wants to arrest people for no reason, they are going to do it anyways. Besides that I think it gives ISD more of a reward for doing their jobs whereas now it comes with little benefit, in my opinion.

+/- dont want to see people getting arrested 15 times for 5 minute crimes that dont inconvenience/annoy anyone - ISD will most likely get trigger happy with such a system

+/- Same reasons as above, but caveat suggestion being encouraging Inspector+ to be a bit more generous with the credits.
Crediting for properly conducted arrests and the like.

Pretty much what was said above, but adding onto it I am pretty sure it would deminish ISD RP. Instead of doing something like talking it out, interrogating and other things ISD could do to RP something (like being lenient and letting someone go for a minor offense, or lowering their sentence if they talk you into it, and many more), you would be incentivised to just Criminel, jail, reward, next. That would not promote a healthy balance between ISD and everyone else.
But I do agree that ISD should be rewarded for doing their job well, but one of the more feasible ways to do that has already been said: Getting credits from Inspectors+ for doing a good job.

I understand your concerns but I believe that wouldn't happen as much as you think as most of ISD is filled with people who normally RP things out. However, the point of this post is to highlight that ISD doesn't really get much reward compared to other classes. Researchers, Class D, and Security can get so much XP just from doing their jobs whereas ISD, that isn't the case.

-Support as a inspector myself I see alot of abuse already for people arrest for small little things this would just make people go arrest people for everything.... and trust me atleast on USA you can arrest for ANYTHING COC 2.5 is one of the most broad things because it goes from animal noises to drinking and smoking. Public nuisance 1 could also be pretty much anything disruptive. Entrapment 1 could be someone making a joke and shutting a door on you. COC 5.2 could be a techie pulling out self defense knife for 0.001 seconds accidentally. People can be arrested for anything and I fear this change could make it just cause more arresting which is unneeded.
HOWEVER, I would like to see some more XP options for ISD such as investigators being able to credit agents .
