Jason Schlatt was minding his own business one day when suddenly out of nowhere, O5-3 called for his presence in Core Sector. Without hesitation Jason made his way down to see why he was called. While on his walk there he's wondering if he had done something wrong, Jason thought to himself "Was it something the Trainees did again?". When Jason arrived he was greeted by O5-3 and asked to have a brawl with someone from the Research Department. Jason happily accepts the challenge thinking to himself "Finally, a way to let off some stress.". The fight didn't last that long, Jason pulled through and came out victorious. As a reward for winning O5-3 had agreed to sign of on 1 document of Jason's choice. Jason's face glowing with joy knowing he can finally begin his research. Research on what? Research on a cure for SCP-008 without the use of SCP-500. Jason wrote this document, making sure not to have any flaws. The moment he was done writing and reading it over he rushed to find O5-3. As O5-3 said, he got one of his assistants to sign for him confirming this could now happen. Without hesitation Jason began preparing everything. After all preparations were done the sampling could begin.
An hour goes by and the sampling was a success. Jason gets his hands on his test sample, eyes focused on the green liquid drained from the SCP-008 Instance. Then soon after he gets this flask the breach alarms start blaring throughout the site. All the personnel inside the SCP-008 Containment Chamber sprint for the exit while E-11 and A-1 defend everyone from the breached anomalies. Luckily Jason and O5-3 made it out safely, they share a firm hand shake, Trust in O5-3's eyes that Jason will get somewhere with this, maybe even make a vaccine.
Jason Schlatt begins his work in the Research Wing Chemical Laboratory. Jason hard at work trying everything he can to get somewhere. He began to see some changes in the SCP-008 liquid when mixing Deuterium, Sulfur and Ethanol. While mixing these chemicals and watching the liquid change color from green to lime he blinks. Suddenly the chemical explodes, covering Jason's face, burning it, scarring it. Jason was rushed back to the Medical Centre and given urgent care.
Jason Schlatt had never felt this way. As if he was dying on the spot. Jason looses consciousness. A few hours go by, Doctors trying everything to help. Somehow, he managed to survive this incident. Although he did not see it at first, all of the skin on his face was burnt off due to what happened. After seeing himself in the mirror his face froze as if he had seen a dead body. Jason rushed to a nearby locker and put on a mask. He doesn't want anyone to see what happened. He then changes his attire to a more funeral attendee style.
