SCP Encountered:
Item #: SCP-9534 'Frozen Forever'
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-9534 is to be contained in a secure, temperature-controlled room at Site-65. The room must maintain a constant temperature of -90 degrees Celsius or below, and must be monitored by at least two Level 3 personnel at all times. Any personnel entering the room must wear full-body thermal protection suits and must not remain inside for more than thirty minutes.
Recently, SCP-9534 was transported to Area-4 due to concerns about its potential for breaching containment at Site-65. At Area-4, SCP-9534 is to be contained in a similar temperature-controlled room, with the same temperature restrictions and personnel safety measures in place.
Description: SCP-9534 is a large crystalline object with a diameter of approximately 10 meters. The object is composed of an unknown mineral that is resistant to extreme temperatures and radiation. SCP-9534 was discovered in Antarctica, in a large crater that appears to have been caused by its impact.
SCP-9534 has two primary effects on any person who comes into contact with it. Firstly, it causes the person's entire bloodstream to drop to a temperature of between -10 and -80 degrees Celsius, depending on the duration and intensity of the contact. This effect is irreversible and will persist for the rest of the person's life.
Secondly, SCP-9534 has the ability to freeze anything that the affected person touches. This freezing effect is instantaneous and can occur even if the contact is brief. Once frozen, the affected object or person becomes immortal to any death that would have been caused by SCP-9534. This effect is also irreversible and will persist for the rest of the object or person's life.
SCP-9534 has shown the ability to emit a powerful energy field that can disrupt nearby electronic equipment and cause temporary paralysis in human subjects.
Addendum: Dr. "Carmine" Freeze, a researcher at Site-65, was the first to discover SCP-9534's effects. Dr. Freeze came into contact with SCP-9534 during an exploratory mission to Antarctica and was subsequently quarantined and monitored for the rest of his life. Despite the irreversible effects of SCP-9534, Dr. Freeze has continued to work because of his undying loyalty to the SCP Foundation.
