What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Give the Vwar id cards the ability to remember the correct skin and bodygroup of the player it steals the ID from.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
I suggested this yesterday but it got deleted when the forums was hacked.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Stop issues like brown E-11 as it will now remember to use Skin 1 instead of Skin 0 when disguising as E-11.
CI DC's can no longer be "metagamed" for using the brown E-11 disguise.
Reduces the chances of subconscious/accidental metagame due to incorrect bodygroup or skin.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
CI DC can't get refunded as often with the excuse "I got metagamed because I was brown E-11".
Development time.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
If you see a blue E-11 then your brain knows nothing is wrong with that person, but if you see brown E-11 you know they are disguised but you also know it is against the rules to take action on this information, so it creates this awkward environment where you know someone is fake but you're not allowed to do anything about it.
This "awkward environment" also makes players fearful of conducting ID checks even when it is totally valid, because they could be framed for metagame with the excuse that "i was brown E-11 so that's why he id checked me" And This is commonly referred to as a "meta shield", where totally reasonable actions can be framed as metagame with the goal to intimidate other users to give the offender an advantage, ie not being ID checked/not being questioned despite doing actions that would typically be considered very suspicious.
This change totally invalidates this "meta shield" and provides fair play for those involved in Deep cover situations. It also allows users to breathe easy as they know they can appropriately ID and question suspicious behaviour without being accused or framed for metagame.
