Denied Give Combat Medics Stun Sticks

What does this suggestion change/add/remove: Give Combat Medic's the Stun Stick.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different: Not to my knowledge though I could be wrong and mistaken. I wanted to at least make the effort in trying to suggest it.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
* Combat Medics have a non-lethal alternative in their arsenal to use against D-Class or wandering Civilians who pose a rise without killing or downing them. Primarily to be used in Med-Bay or D-Block.
* It would make sense that a Combat Medic when not fighting combative GOI's to have a non-lethal alternative that isn't going to be overextending their intended purpose.
* A better alternative as compared to the Beanbag Shotgun or a Tranquilizer Gun.


Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
* Dev Time (Possibly, though I am under the presumption that won't be the case if it is accepted.)
* Stun Stick Abuse. (As it will be with most things added that help elevate certain roles.)
* Possibly an unnecessary addition depending on who you ask.
* Entity Limit.
* GSD Replacement Theory gives more credence. (Joke)


Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
As it currently stands, Combat Medics do not have any non-lethal items on their person to help in non-combative situations. The consultant is obviously given a tranquilizer gun. However, no one else in medical has access to such an item to deter violent d-class or foundation personnel where a gun could be considered too much in the ways of lethal force. And a consultant can't be called upon 24/7 to assist in such a situation where they're also putting themselves at risk. A beanbag shotgun or a tranquilizer gun for a combat medic could be more readily abused and can be cumbersome for their equipment roster. Whereas a stun stick is more acceptable and makes sense due to their unique role.

Predominantly combat medics should be the driving enforcement of med-bay, they should have some sort of non-lethal item on their person to deter people from causing too many issues. To be an effective driving force in keeping medical staff safe without overstepping or being unethical. You can always make a person leave by using a gun sure but since they're not a threat by being annoying you can't necessarily use it against them. Whereas if you had a stun stick, you could. It also makes sense for Combat Medics to have a stun-stick as they are mostly seen in D-block assisting GSD when not needed or holding it down when GSD is unavailable or are escorting. It also puts them more in line with security staff as combat medics being combative are seen as an arm of GSD as well as medical.

I wanted to make the effort of at least suggesting the idea, even if it might be seen as an unneeded addition.

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.

The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the Combat Medic position would become unbalanced and would take over the General Security Job's duty and operations. Combat medic is a job that is intended to provide medical aid in combative zones over doing the duties of other departments. I suggest when making a content suggestion to consider how it would effect the servers content loop, power balance, and what it would do that other jobs cannot do.
