Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Born in the enchanting town of Glastonbury, England, my parents represented a fusion of Jamaican and British heritage, imbuing me with a deep appreciation for cultural diversity. Growing up amidst the mystical landscapes of Glastonbury Tor and the legends of King Arthur, I developed a profound fascination for the occult and the world of folklore.
From an early age, I immersed myself in the study of ancient mysticism, devouring books on witchcraft, divination, and the esoteric arts. This passion for the occult was complemented by my intrigue with folklore and its ability to weave captivating tales that transcended time and place.
While my peers pursued more conventional academic paths, my thirst for knowledge led me down a unique trajectory. I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, traveling across the globe to unearth ancient secrets and learn from the guardians of esoteric wisdom. From the sacred sites of Stonehenge to the temples of Japan, I delved deep into the realms of hidden knowledge, drawing inspiration from the mysteries that lay beyond the confines of rational understanding.
My academic pursuits eventually led me to the University of Cambridge, where I further honed my passion for the occult and folklore. While my formal studies encompassed a degree in Anthropology and Mythology, my true scholarly devotion lay in unravelling the enigmatic connections between ancient belief systems and the supernatural.
For over two decades, I had the privilege of teaching and researching at Cambridge, sharing my insights with eager minds, and expanding the boundaries of our collective understanding. Yet, as fulfilling as my time at the university was, I felt a yearning to apply my knowledge and expertise in a more profound and practical manner.
Thus, destiny beckoned me towards the SCP Foundation. Within its clandestine corridors, I found a sanctuary for my passions, a place where the worlds of the occult and the anomalous converge. Here, I could delve into the depths of ancient texts, decipher cryptic symbols, and unlock the secrets that lie beyond the realm of conventional comprehension, and that is exactly what I did.
After years of dedicated study and progression from a Junior Researcher to an esteemed Executive Researcher, Hallowgrave's journey into understanding the anomalous world came at a heavy price. Throughout his career, he never forgot the lives lost among the pursuit of knowledge, even though those lost were predominantly individuals deemed morally compromised as D-Class personnel. To Hallowgrave, they were more than just statistics. They were people. Each loss took a toll, leaving him to reflect in his office during sleepless nights, contemplating the ethical balance of his work and the sacrifices made.
Though Hallowgrave continued his research, the weight of these experiences led him to a newfound realization. It became clear that it was not enough to merely contribute to the Research Department. He yearned for a greater influence, driven by a sense of duty to ensure that the evils occurring within the facility were properly addressed. Leaving behind the familiar confines of his research position was a decision he never anticipated making, yet his heart tells him it is necessary. Now, for Hallowgrave, the task of overseeing and safeguarding against the facility's dark undercurrents is not just a task—it has become his personal obligation.
