Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:237558683
Discord name: InstantRamen#9603
For how long have you played on CG SCP: 1,207,080 Seconds
Age: 13
In what country are you located?: USA
Time zone: CST
Character name(s): 'Instant'
Civilian name: Eddie John
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): USA
Do you have a mic?:
- Yes.
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held:
-Internal Affairs Agent (Hold) and External Affairs agent (Hold)
Have you received any kicks/bans/warnings? and why?:
-Two warnings for naming conventions, when I first joined the server I didn't care about getting warned, but now I try my best to be realistic in RP and follow the server rules. I used to think it was funny to have an inappropriate name, but I quickly learned that is the way not to go on this server. I have learned from my mistakes and stupid actions in the past, and I am better at following the rules as I have read the MOTD.
-The first warning was for having my name as a D-Class be inappropriate. I was pulled into an admin sit and I was asked to change my name, I changed it to another inappropriate name. I got my first naming convention warning because of that, the admin set my name to Nathen Darnell and I stuck with that for a while.
-My second warning was because I didn't like being called Nathen and I wanted to be called by my steam name which I was a lot more used to. I set my name to Instant Ramen and I got pulled to a sit and was auto-warned due to the fact I already have a naming convention warning. While reading the rules I figured out you can have code names and I changed my name to 'Instant'.
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?:
-I would love to test on CL4 SCPs such as 682 and 079 and to find out more about them.
-I also love to guide people, whenever someone asks for help from me I will give them a full tutorial on how to do whatever they're asking about.
-When I was first a junior researcher I had no idea on how to do anything, I finished the junior researcher test and then did my first test on SCP-3078. I fell in love with being a researcher, I wanted to test on as many different SCPs as possible. Acquiring Executive Researcher will give me access to more SCPs and able me to acquire as much info as possible.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
-I've tested on almost every SCP in LCZ and a few in HCZ, I have a continuous drive to find out more about SCPs and to go as far as to put some SCPs in 914 to explore more of the effects.
-I can guide lower-ranked researchers on how to do sampling or give them advice on what clearance level is needed for sampling. I read the sampling doc before doing a test and follow the procedures as closely as possible.
-I also try to look at roleplay for tests from a real-life perspective, which makes roleplay for when I do tests a lot better. I am active on the server every day, although I do go on vacations sometimes. My family takes me to church every Sunday so I am also not available in the morning on Sundays too, but other than that I try to be as active as I can.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
-I have written 5 excellent graded documents in my time of being a researcher, I always think of writing documents as a good way to widen my vocabulary and help me form sentences better.
-What makes a document excellent is being correctly formatted, it wouldn't make sense for the conclusion to become before the hypothesis on the document.
-The document should also be highly detailed and creative, the document shouldn't just be saying 'The D-Class went in SCP-173's chamber and got samples then came out.' It should be more detailed noting if anything unusual happens or if the D-Class makes a remark.
-The document should also be visually pleasing, the viewer of the document shouldn't be bored and eventually feel like they are forced to read a wall of text. They should be engaged and their attention is fully on the document due to how interesting it is.
-Finally, the document should follow the theme of SCP, it shouldn't feel like something you would find in a regular file cabinet.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
-To ensure other researchers follow protocol and escort sampling or tests requiring Level 4 clearance.
-Other responsibilities include but are not limited to approving documents, guiding other researchers, grading documents, and hosting tests.
-When a Researcher or Senior Researcher walks up to an Executive Researcher and asks for a document to get approved e.g.: 035, they should have a valid reason for sampling. Executive Researchers should not automatically approve documents without making sure that the Goal of the Study is justifiable and would benefit the foundation.
-When other researchers ask for help from an Executive Researcher he or she should try his best to guide other researchers who are confused about testing or other questions. Especially when a Junior Researcher is asking for help, they should be the ones getting the most help for their journey in the research department.
-When an Executive Researcher is grading a document, they should be making sure they are following a proper format. The Executive Researcher grading the document should not be lazy, and read one part of the document and grade it off of that. Executive Researcher should be taking into account the length and detail of the document.
-Executive Researchers should be using their clearance level to test on SCPs that aren't often tested on due to their clearance level restriction EX: 682 or 079.
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
When Nathen Darnell was a kid he was found fond of experimenting and finding out new information never heard before. He wanted to be the first to experiment and
find out things, when he was 10 his mom and dad were killed in a car crash, and that pushed young Nathen Darnell close to suicide. He lived most of his life with his
uncle as he was nice enough to pay his tuition. From 12-14, he would attend a private middle school but he went to a public high school as his uncle's family wasn't too
rich. When he was 14 he was interested in what the big white blob of white was in the middle of a theorized picture of the galaxy. Nathen thought about it for a long
time and concluded that nothing other than a black hole could have that much gravitational pull. Later when he was 15 that theory was confirmed by scientists many
years older than him and more experienced than him. From ages 16-18, Nathen would do a few more small experiments such as launching rockets. The last semester
of high school he theorized a way to launch rockets using a giant arm to basically throw a rocket into space, his classmates laughed at him. His teacher on the other
hand believed that it could possibly work but the teacher asked "How would we spin the massive arm fast enough to launch the rocket fast enough?" Nathen was
puzzled. When Nathen Darnell finally graduated from high school he would get a call from a "Research Agency" asking if he wanted to join. Nathen found this
opportunity wonderful as this would be his dream from being a kid. He rose up the ranks quickly showing that he could conduct creative cross-tests and tests with
SCPs, and by the age of 30 he was given the opportunity to become an executive researcher. That's where his story ends shaking hands with the research
department director and becoming an Executive Researcher.
