A rundown investigator haunted by past cases and chipped away by substance abuse he recently overcame, everyday the urge grows stronger, but solving cases keeps him distracted and the monster at bay. Abandoned as a child and left for dead on the step of a police station, a detective named Jason Jones brought him in and decided to take him home, his wife was shocked upon seeing this baby, as it had been soaked in the rain and was turning blue, they rushed him to the emergency room in the hopes of saving the child, alas they did. They raised him as their own, they adopted him and named him "James Jones" but as he grew older he took to the name Jimbo instead, not clear as to why but it was more comfortable for him.
Years go by and we reach Jimbo's 24th birthday, he returns from deployment in iraq and enrolls in the police academy to walk in his fathers footsteps, whom had recently retired, two days go by and the sun sets, a man in black breaks into the house unbenownst to the occupiers, he walks up the stairs and murders the Jones family in cold blood, Jimbo was at a bar with friends while this happened, he returned home later that night and was welcomed by blood and cold bodies, he falls to his knees and pleads for gods guidance, offering everything to have them returned to him, he just laid there next to their lifeless bodies with a promise, a promise to track down the person responsible.
