Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
I am applying for Chief because GSD needs to be better, and I believe that I can help lead it towards its true potential. I love GSD so much that I cannot just let it degrade into nothing, which I feel like it has been over the past few weeks. This is not to say anything about Robin or Nexus and how they have been doing as chief. I think they are great and doing their best. There are just some areas that I cannot touch as captain that I could improve with the responsibility and power given to chiefs, such as updating the documents for HW and RRT tryouts, along with pushing for new rules or GSD regulations. I want to see GENSEC shine and the best way to do it is becoming chief.
What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
I would say the things that make me suitable for chief are my activity and passion, my ideas/attention to detail, and my leadership capabilities. Firstly, I would consider myself a GENSEC main through and through. It has always been my favorite role, and something I love doing. Over the past week I have been less active on captain due to being brought into O1, but once my trial period is over I plan on splitting my time most likely 40/60 between O1 and GENSEC. No matter what happens it will always be my main priority, and my heart lies with it. Another reason I am suitable to be chief is the ideas I have for it going forward and the things I pay attention to that others seem to miss. I want to make a GSD handbook to go along with the COC and COE that new GENSEC read in order to give a better rundown of proper procedure, along with making it easier to have all the relevant GENSEC information in one place. I have started work on this a little bit with how I want it to be like, but Christmas, New Years, and the start of a semester came at a bad time. I also notice things like how people are upset with RRT and HW tryouts with some questions being outdated or seemingly impossible to know. These will be my highest priority to fix and improve due to them being so important for upcoming GENSEC. Finally, I believe I am a great leader of people. At heart, a chief is one of two people everyone looks towards as those who can bring GENSEC to new hights, and being able to talk to and be loved by those who work for you is a must. My leadership capabilites are shown through the efficiency I run D block, my work as an AXO assistant, and how I talk to others. I never belittle or yell at cadets or officers doing incorrect work, because that is not the kind of thing people respond to. I plan to lead a GENSEC that is firm, quick, effective, and respectful to ALL people, whether they be D-class, MTF, or Site Administration.
What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:
Chief of Security leads GENSEC in a way that captains cannot. They enact changes that affect the direction of GSD as a whole. They work with other departments in order to make sure not only D block can run as smoothly as possible, but the site as a whole. GENSEC roam the halls being security, escort researchers, and protect the site from threats. This makes them interact with nearly everyone on the site, and making sure that GSD is doing their job ultimately lands on the chief. Being a chief means more than doing paperwork. It is truly a role that brings together anyone and everyone, new and old, to work together towards a better site.
