What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Removes the "VHS" tape and replaces it with the Media Player

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Probably but I'm not good at finding old forum posts so I'm not sure.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
It'll encourage people to use the lecture hall WAY more.
People can give better presentations through youtube by making their own videos.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
More lag or people abusing the media player.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I think if the Media Player was to be added it would make the lecture hall so much more useful. right now people dont ever use it unless i just completely miss the lectures with it. you could also just use the media player as an event thing for foundation celebrations for a "movie night" or really anything. i think this addition would just make presentations and everything else much easier.

i don't think it's as much effort as it is abuse, performance and/or general bugginess. there's plenty of ways to implement external media playback in GMod, it's a thoroughly explored thing that we even kinda already have in the form of the radio

the main issue is with how open-ended with is; you can't just let people play anything they want. now admittedly, you could just like, restrict this to GMs as like, an event tool, to aid in roleplay stuff or w/e, but then not only does that not fully dispel it; you've got use concerns like you say. like why do this?

i can see CT seeing this as not needed, although it would be nice to be able to do stuff like this.

I just want something to promote more lectures and I feel like this is the only way to do it tbh.

Hi Toaster,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.
The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the following reasons.

We are concerned that people will play inappropriate content on the media players if it is opened up to everyone. Currently, the only available media player is an audio player that is only accessible to Senior Admin+.
We already have issues with people using the VComputer Documents to spread inappropriate imagery, and this would just contribute to that existing issue.

Your suggestion will now be locked and marked as denied.​
