What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion makes it so that activation of the binded /panic command causes the person who did so to raise their arm for a brief moment, in the exact way as if sending a text message
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not to my knowledge.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
Removes edge cases where valid FearRP can be applied to someone outside of the audio range of the panic button noise, meaning that there won't be instances where someone can get soft metagamed over a kidnapping without ever knowing
Should improve certainty in staff sits - the exact moment someone uses a panic button can now be identified via when their arm raises, solving stripped/not stripped contingent sits
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
Something that'll probably take a bit of coding to make? Unsure how it'd be done.
Potentially needless in the eyes of some, may bug out models if the command "forces" people to do the arm raise.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I had a random thought about this based on the new strip system (which I love). This should make surface kidnapping etc a lot more cohesive and remove edge cases where accidental (or let's be honest, intentional) rulebreaks of metagame can occur, making the new system easier to use, also reducing staff time on sits to do with metagame or kidnapping complaints since a visual cue will exist. This is based on the idea that if you validly fearrp someone and scream "don't move", you should at least SEE if they're reaching for a conveniently located button on their uniform since the audio cue may bug/fail sometimes and that can ruin roleplay/lead to rulebreaks when kidnapping happens.
