What does this suggestion change/add/remove:

This suggestion would add the whitelist requirement to the Security Contaiment Unit job. This wouldn't be a forums WL but a WL that can be handed out by Captain+.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

Not that I know of.

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):

- This would decrease the amount of minges on SCU.

- People would be better informed on the special set of rules given to SCU and less people have to be banned from security.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:

- This would mean more work for Captains since they have to do another lecture regularly.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:

I think this would be a welcome addition to the Gensec department since we already have a cl3 job (officer) so this would mean that SCU is extra premium and people who play SCU are trusted with their job if you know what I mean.

...i believe the rules for being an SCU are (or are at least, supposed to be), covered in SRU tryouts. those two jobs are pretty much the only two specifically locked behind that license, which basically serves the function of a whitelist anyway. my understanding is that in this case, whitelisting it would be redundant. the issues with SCU people experience, are likely a skill issue on the part of gensec leadership and so we should continue to clown on them for it.

Normally when I'm playing on USA the SCUs are doing their job to a decent standard, so I haven't personally had any issues with them. I wouldn't say they need an extra whitelist step to have the role since they already require two licenses. Which if you can get through both of the tryouts, I believe you're capable of being an SCU with enough knowledge learned. And if worst comes to worst, the captains can deal with them like any other misbehaving gensec.

Suggestion Denied

Hi @Cary “Raven”,

Thanks for taking the time to make a server suggestion.
The Content Team has chosen to deny your suggestion due to the following reasons.

After discussing this suggestion, we concluded simply due to the fact the job only has 2 slots available and also the old Containment Specialist was never a whitelist required job, introducing this feature would be unnecessary. 2 licenses ( SCU / HW ) is already a requirement to be able to play this job and we think that is enough.

Your suggestion will now be locked and marked as denied.
