Writer note: this is the first lore for my CI character Mark ‘Croc’ Jenson and features SCP-7722. This story also takes inspiration from the famous Batman villain Killer Croc and his origin story.

The Shaping Of A Monster:

Mark Jenson was born in the English district of Royal Tunbridge Wells and almost did not survive his birth due to a skin disease which led him to develop scales resembling those of a crocodile on his skin, specifically on the lower arm, neck and shin area. This made it hard for him to breathe but due to the quick action of doctors present he was able to survive. As a baby it was hard for Mark to stand up or grab normal objects but as he got older it got easier to do normal actions. However, he was treated as an outcast by people around him and was bullied regularly, this led him to develop psychological difficulties as a child.

His mother’s homeland of Syria was a place where he could feel more at ease, to be specific his mother’s village. However, during one particular trip to Syria it would all go horribly wrong. Mark was 16 at the time and really wanted to go to Syria again. His father stayed in Britain due to work but that didn’t stop him and his mother from going. During this trip the Foundation had moved SCP-7722 to a site in Syria for further testing of anomalous artifacts. SCP-7722 had broken out of containment during one of the test and managed to escape site, attempts at recontainment had failed. SCP-7722 traveled to the closest village he could find. This happened to be Mark’s village…

Mark woke up to the screams of his neighbours, his mother got woken up too and screamed at Mark to run out of the house and away from the village as quick as possible, he listened and ran as fast as he could. He looked back to see his mother getting struck down by SCP-7722. Mark kept on running, crying until he could no more. When Mark’s father heard of the cover up news that a supposed clash between government soldiers and regional militia had destroyed the village, and that there were no survivors. He booked the first flight to Syria he could. Mark’s father was able to find Mark hiding in one of the surrounding villages where Mark told him everything.

Mark’s father did not believe him and when they returned to the UK he made him go to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist diagnosed him with PTSD and gave him pills. Mark’s father believed that what Mark was saying was due to the PTSD. Mark’s father wanted Mark to live again and move on with his life in Britain. But Mark, filled by hatred for the people who had harmed him, who had bullied him, who had killed his loved ones, who had destroyed his only safe space, decided to call up a friend in Syria who had given him a job opportunity which would “fix” everything and accepted his offer of joining this so called “Insurgency”. On a normal random day he was taken from the UK and not seen for 10 years, until his recent activity in the Pinewood area under the Chaos Insurgency cell there..
