"Mars" started as a Materials Research Scientist for the Central Intelligence Agency during the Cold War from 1981 to the eventual end in 1991. Here he worked to find solutions in support of the CIA's mission to collect foreign intelligence. After the end of the Cold War he was recruited by the foundation as a Junior Researcher three years later (1994) at Site 19 around the Michigan area.

Mars' iconic "Horse Mask" comes from a failed experiment when he was a Jr. Researcher, being taken under Doctor ███'s wing to assist with SCP-███ where they where attempting to find out if the anomaly could ███ and bend ███ to their will. The experiment was ruled an utter failure and caused a 'small' containment breach. During the containment breach Mars' head was decapitated by unknown means.

(Information on the breach has been evaluated and changed by Clearance 5 personnel.)

When Mars woke up the next day he felt as his vision was altered and the feeling of his face was different. When he became completely aware of the situation he saw himself in the mirror with the face of a Horse. Before being discharged from the Foundation Hospital, it was explained by Doctor ███ that because of the anomalous circumstances of how his head had been decapitated, it was possible to alter the nerve endings in his neck with the nerve endings of a horses head. Mars does not particularly remember what happened after this as five armed guards entered the room that Mars was in and took Doctor ███ to an undisclosed area before being administered Class B amnestic. It was later stated that Doctor ███ was charged with ██████ and was served the death penalty.

Now a few years later, Mars has become a successful Researcher for the foundation, conducting studied experiments on SCP's like 049, 682, and in particular made the first ever study of SCP-8837. Unfortunately, Mars is never taken seriously as many find the horse head to comical in this sort of working field.

Mars can be seen wearing a replica of SCP-268 on his head that symbolizes that he does not like to be noticed by people as he believes his looks hold him back as a researcher. SCP-268 is a tweed-wool newsboy cap that makes the wearer of the hat unnoticeable. An example of this is during a test with SCP-268 where a Class-D personnel put on SCP-268 and became completely oblivious to both the researcher and the escort, it was not until the D-Class spoke up that he was noticed, but then gradually unnoticed as time went.

Mars now works at Site-██ as a Senior Researcher.

Although I appreciate your feedback, I do have to disagree. I believe the pac could represent a Researcher pretty well, as I see other researchers (usually Exec+) wear Pac3s that align with how my Pac looks (except the horse head of course). Compared to others I don't think it strays to far away from the Researchers look. As I already stated I have seen people with pacs that look like mine that still get accepted (wont name anyone that isn't willing to be named).
