Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
- I love the community and I always give my full effort to help others. I am looking for more purpose within the Department of Medicine and want to take on additional responsibilities, as I feel capable of contributing more than I currently do as a Senior Doctor.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
- I am professional and reliable. I have a good understanding of the procedures and policies. I am always respectful , whether I am treating patients, assisting colleagues, or mentoring trainees.
I am confident in performing all core medical duties, including psychological evaluations, physical evaluations, surgeries, and issuing prescriptions. I am also comfortable making decisions under pressure and handling complex roleplay scenarios.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
- Surgeries :
A surgical procedure begins with evaluating whether the operation is necessary and justified. I first assess the patient’s condition. Before beginning, I ensure the patient is informed about the surgery and obtain their consent. If the patient is unable to consent, proper authorization will be obtained from CL4 member or higher.
I will then proceed with preparing the medication that will be needed for the surgery. I make sure I have saline, ibuprofen, codeine, adrenaline and what not to be prepared for any complications. After that, I will wash my hands and ensure all the surgical tools I will need are cleaned, as well as the surgery room. I will ask the patient to lay down on the operating table. I will administer appropriate anesthesia to ensure the patient is unconscious and does not feel pain during the procedure.
During the surgery, I will continuously monitor the patient’s vitals (hear rate, blood pressure, oxygen) and remain prepared to respond to any complications. Once the surgery is complete, I will move the patient to recovery room, monitor them until they regain consciousness, and provide appropriate aftercare : managing pain through prescriptions if necessary/recommending follow-up care.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
- They are responsible for ensuring that all medical personnel follow the Code of Ethics and department policies.
They supervise and mentor Senior Doctors, Doctors and Trainees, as well as providing guidance in complex medical situations such as advanced surgeries, psychological evaluations, and ethical dilemmas.
They are also responsible for reviewing and approving experimental procedures, making high-level medical decisions, and intervening when misconduct or policy violations occur.
Finally, they play a key role in maintaining the quality of roleplay within the department.
