Question about ERP

Hey everyone,

As you may not know, I was previously banned for ERP. The main reason was performing back-and-forth movements behind someone, which was interpreted as inappropriate. I want to make sure I fully understand what’s considered ERP to avoid any issues moving forward.

I have a few questions about specific actions:

  1. If I were to perform back-and-forth movements behind someone while crouched, would that be interpreted as something explicit (e.g., “kissing” or something worse) or just an emote? Would this count as ERP?
  2. If I were to perform back-and-forth movements in front of someone while crouched, would that be seen as providing a “service” or just an emote? Would this also be considered ERP?
  3. Finally, if I were to perform back-and-forth movements in front of someone while uncrouched, does that imply “kissing” or is it just an emote? Would this be considered ERP as well?
I just want to clarify these things to make sure I’m following the rules properly. Thanks for your time and help!

Best regards, [Your Name]

Solution
Its context dependant. Crouching or moving about near people alone won't have you warned but if there's additional stuff to support it's something weird you can be.

ChatGPT moment?

(It's on a case by case basis, but basically anything that is done with intent that could have an underlying meaning to something inappropriate is considered ERP. So for all three I would say yes it's ERP because of what you are trying to imply.)

ERP can be defined simply. Erotic roleplay. A few examples are listed below:

Doing suggestive movements/tones
Saying erotic/sexual stuff
Actually roleplaying out "doing it"

I'm not gonna go into detail, but I'm sure you get what I mean
Second and third are understandable, but I’m not entirely sure I understand what the first example could indicate. I’d appreciate it if you could clarify what is considered suggestive and whether the examples I’ve provided fall under that category.

Since what’s considered suggestive can be pretty subjective, whose perspective should we use to determine if something crosses the line?

Thanks again,

Thank you for the explanation.

I just want to make sure I fully understand how to handle these situations moving forward. If I were to report someone for actions that I personally interpret as implying something inappropriate or erotic during RP, would I need to call an admin in-game to clarify since it’s determined on a case-by-case basis?

Additionally, would I risk getting warned for making frequent reports if I consistently flag actions that I believe could be inappropriate? I want to ensure I’m following the rules without accidentally abusing the report system.

Thank you again for your time and help!

Best regards,

" what’s considered ERP" hmm I wonder what could be considered errotic roleplay man, wait a second... it's almost like the word errotic can be used to connect it to actions that are also errotic and not allowed!!!!!!
Erotic means 'relating to or arousing sexual desire or excitement.' What’s considered erotic can vary from person to person. For example, public nudity might seem erotic to some, but not to others. It often comes down to personal interpretation and cultural norms.

That doesn't apply to the server literally anything sexual is errotic

Your statement still doesn’t hold, as not everything sexual is inherently erotic, but I understand what you're trying to imply. Regarding the rules, the admin and I have already reached a conclusion. Even if I think it’s wrong, my opinion doesn’t change anything since I’m not the one who makes or changes the rules.

We concluded that anything that could implicitly suggest a sexual act is considered ERP. The admin mentioned this because I implied it that way. However, when I was in the admin sit, I explained that I didn’t mean it that way. It's a logical fallacy because they can't read my mind. The real way they follow this rule is simply because they believe it could imply a sexual act. This creates a problem because it makes it impossible to know if something you're doing will be considered ERP unless the sexual roleplay is explicit.

I will make sure to come up with new situations and ask them here if they mean ERP. In the end, we will have a big list, and problem solved.
