Replace Media Player With Media TV

What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
[Adds media TVs around the site that players with XK VIP can play youtube videos or the like on so players can watch "TV" in game]

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
[People can interact and play more with people on the server in a fun and harmless way that would be a realistic passtime in the SCP universe.]

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
[Some people may put inappropriate things on the TV]

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
[It being at XK VIP to put videos up would be a good safety net, and if you pay 80 GBP just to get banned on a server for playing some dumb video, it doesn't seem worth it. Ventz still gets their money and they maybe got one video shown.]

I thought about this, but messing around with it on other servers, it doesn't seem to cause any performance issues until the player activtes it, and even then, seems to cause no more lag than having a chrome tab open on youtube, not server side.

I love gmod cinema gamemode

Never been on it, but I think main gain is it does add a little more to the world. Right now, the only on site entertainment (a site alot of people apparently live on), is shooting people, shooting SCPs, digging around on the terminals, and playing chess or checkers.

I feel adding this non-harmful, not hard to add, and not faction dependent, in-game, form of entertainment would add a little more world to the server.

This idea mostly came from a little mini event I recall from a GM, all it was, was in D-Block second floor, they made 2 couch props around a TV prop of them playing TV audio. I watched almost all representatives of the site structure (GSD, MTF, RSD, DEA, IA) all stop, sit down, and laugh and chat around this simple fake TV, as they in character discussed what they were "watching" heck, even a D-Class came by and joined it, then when it was over, just walked back into D-Block.

It kinda made me realize, there really is no other harmless entertainment than playing chess or checkers. I think people are just kinda bored during down time, so they start messing with people, trolling, or just get off and watch a movie in Discord.

So why not just bring that pass time in-game?

remember that our server has around 120 players connected during certain hours and it also has pac which lags it even more. making this server render all the players, all the pacs AND some video render would not only make the server shit itself but also our computers. I'm trying my best to have a good experience and not lag but it's barely possible with 250-300 ping and 30 fps.

Again, it doesn't affect server side. video rendering is individual based if they turn it on for themselves.

Honestly, if we let people who want to ruin fun control what we can have, we shouldn't be allowed guns, because someone might RDM, shouldn't have voice because someone may be offensive, can't have text because someone may swear.

When I say questionable videos I mean videos that may contain nudity, gore, etc. Most people forget there's a decent amount of people underage who play the server and not all Youtube videos are age restricted. RDMing, swearing, slurring, etc. does not have near the same weight as some of the stuff Youtube has on it lol.

I'm all for more fun stuff being added but a very good portion of gmod players are not even near mature enough to be able to show youtube videos to other gmod players lmao

Could just have the feature and limit it to GM, staff and RP leader roles for selecting content.

Part of why I said to have it on the XK class VIP. If you wanna catch a perma ban and lose 80GBP to play a stupid thing I'd be surprised. Especially the people you're referring to, who are more than likely broke/jobless.

Could also have more limitations like being on a CL4 job or something if people are that worried.

Then they'll be out £80 and banned from the server, ventz will be up £80 still and we'll still have a TV, they'll just be stupid, down £80, and banned.
