What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
Ideally it would add something to do if you get arrested. In it's current form getting put in jail essentially removes you from the game for however long ISD was feeling at that moment. I would suggest adding an interactable NPC or maybe you can get a mop and clean? Just something to do instead of being put in a timeout box with nothing to do but wait down a timer.

Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
Not that I could find

Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
It would reduce the boredom of being arrested.
Perhaps one of the activities added could net you a small amount of XP.

Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
People might try to get arrested to partake in these activities but it's very unlikely especially if it's something that can be done without being arrested to begin with.

Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I believe it should be accepted as it would promote a more fun experience to players. In character punishments should still carry some some entertainment and roleplay value. While you are in jail there is no opportunity for any type of entertainment OR roleplay.

Its a punishment for non-serious staff matters realistically. If ISD aren't doing the interrogation RP on those who aren't minging about then you need to contact the leadership team.

Only thing that needs changing with ISD Jails is a new arrest system lol
Yeah I've never had ISD do any type of interrogation RP.

-/+ Support My answer could easily change and I mean easily but I feel like people wouldn't be too pleased with the premise of people wanting to be arrested, I personally see jail time as a way to learn from your mistakes by sitting in an empty box, complete isolation rather than still being able to socialize, alongside the fact this freedom could be used to minge, like could they pick up guns or keycards, its got a lot of questions around it but my answer can be swayed to both sides depending on the argument

I don't think people would want to be arrested since ideally it would be more restrictive than NOT being arrested, but the level of restriction is too much at current. Being arrested basically removes you from the game for however long ISD wanted to throw you in for. You have no one to interact with and nothing to do. There's a phone in there but let's be real, no one is going to answer any of the lines you can call. It's just very anti-roleplay.

I see your point, though sometimes jail is also supposed to be a in rp unserious punishment from ISD. Jail isn't only for minges. Corruption, abuse of power and serious misconduct that mainly consists of RP, like the Nu-7 Lt actively torturing people for minor stuff then amnesticating them, is probably a big reason a lot of ISD players joined the department, including myself. It adds more depth to arrests and shouldn't be dealt with by setting them out of the game for XX minutes. Minges alone should be reported and dealt with by Staff.
