Item #: SCP-8766
Nickname: Death’s Loop
Object Class: [Pending Classification]
Anomalous Properties:
SCP-8766, commonly referred to as "Death’s Loop," does not appear to be a physical entity. Rather, it is a guaranteed event or phenomenon. SCP-8766 appears to trigger upon the death of any site personnel, causing them to revive. However, a distinct change occurs following their revival — a form of information loss, especially related to the circumstances of their death.
Forgotten Information Regarding Site Personnel Deaths:
Following the death and apparent revival of an individual, the majority of site personnel seem to completely forget that the person had died. The revived subject also exhibits complete memory loss related to their death, including who killed them and how it happened. Despite numerous attempts, no footage or concrete documentation of the revival process exists — possibly due to the cognitohazardous nature of SCP-8766, which causes information loss related to the event.
It is currently unknown whether non-Foundation civilians are also affected. However, there are indications that the general public may also be impacted, as records of civilian deaths and revivals also appear to be absent or forgotten.
Audio Recording – Incident Log
Begin Log
Containment Unit 1: Yo, what the hell?
Containment Unit 2: What?
Containment Unit 1: The device is detecting a ton of anomalous activity.
Containment Unit 2: Yeah, that's normal. I mean, we are in an SCP site.
Containment Unit 1: Yeah, but it started going off after I neutralized the aggressor. Huh? It just stopped.
Containment Unit 2: Maybe a bug?
Containment Unit 1: Dude, these things were built by the smartest minds on Earth. It can't just bug out.
Containment Unit 2: Well... you better go report it.
End Log
This log suggests that SCP-8766 may trigger directly after a fatal incident, with anomalous detection equipment briefly responding before ceasing all activity — likely due to memory erasure or interference.
OOC Explanation:
This SCP is designed to explain the random reappearance of individuals who were previously confirmed dead, i know of scenarios where character death is used for dramatic effect, but i sill want this to be approved. SCP-8766 serves a similar function to SCP-055 — it exists, but no one can remember the details. This allows for characters to be "killed" yet return with no memory of their death or who killed them
Hope this gets approved
