Your SteamID: STEAM_0:1:238482069
Previous rank: Trial Gamemaster
Are you appealing a Staff resignation or blacklist: Resignation
Date of resignation: 07/11/2024
Prior to this, have you ever been demoted or resigned: Resigned from mod LOOOOONG ago, before I was even known as Lily.
Have you received any kicks/warns/bans, and if so, why:
Why did you resign: To put it simply, inactivity. I was essentially forced to resign by a collection of external factors, originally it was some issues that had arisen within the server with some specific people. This alone damaged my motivation to get on every day severely and had an impact on my playtime, this however was something that I found manageable with slight adjustments to social circles and certain precautions. However, as the previous situation began to ease, familial issues and more personal/troubling issues became prominent, which was not something I could overlook for the sake of holding an in-game role despite my eagerness to keep it. Due to this being a public forum I will try to keep personal details to a minimum, but these can be expanded on if contacted directly.
Why should you return: I do have a great care for the server and community within it, a few bad apples doesn't define the bunch. I really enjoyed learning more about how Game Masters perform their events and having the ability to assist them in a direct manner, as well as the ability to create them myself. During that time, and since then, I have also expanded my skillset quite a lot more with the tools that were available to me, like PAC3.
This is important because PAC3 is one of the strongest tools in a GMs kit, second only to the their creativity. I believe that while I may have been of a novice level in PAC before that I have greatly improved since then, learning new techniques and methods for optimisation, as well as utilising other features such as proxies and commands. All of these lessons serving to better improve the quality of events in both immersion and gameplay aspects.
Often I'll have an idea for an event, and while I'd be happy to tell another GM to see it come to fruition, it is my belief that if you want to do something, you should attempt to do so yourself, with help where it fits. However, a normal player only has so many tools at their disposal, along with the fact that they often do not have the ability to create as "exciting" and "involved" RP scenarios for others to be involved in easily.
I am also of the belief that I did not have enough time, due to previous reasons stated, to truly prove myself and show what I am capable of in terms of creating events for players to enjoy. I am still of a firm belief that all departments, regiments and groups should be able to be involved in RP, despite their role. If an RP scenario cannot be adapted on the fly, that is an issue with the GM themselves.
(P.S. I know it is unconventional for a TGM to appeal a resignation, however, I believe that due to my circumstances for resignation and the fact that I was in my trial period for a little over a month, along with speaking to SL about it, that this is a good course of action. If this is not enough however, feel free to inform me and I'll create a new application instead. Thanks!)
