What server you were banned on: SCP-RP (USA)

Your in-game name: Fool

Your SteamID: 76561199385648508

Ban Reason: FailRP | Stacked Bans

Date of ban: 10/22/2025

Who banned you: Anderson

Ban length: 6 days

What will you do to stop this from happening again: I’m appealing my ban for what’s being called Combat Holstering (FailRP). Here’s what actually happened: I holstered my weapon after finishing a fight in the Foundation courtyard. The rule says you can’t holster in the middle of combat, but by the time I did it, I’d already taken out the last Nu7 nearby. Combat was over. I get that the logs might look weird without all the details. I explained the situation to Anderson, the staff member, but he passed it up to SL and they made a call that just doesn’t match how the rule’s supposed to work.

Next time, I’ll double-check that combat’s 100% done before I holster anything, and I’ll be more aware of how things might look to everyone else. I’ll also make a point to talk things out with people around me, just to avoid any confusion about whether the fight’s over.

Why should you be unbanned: I really think the ban came down to a misunderstanding about when combat ended, not because I was trying to break the rules. I wasn’t trying to dodge roleplay or save my gun during a fight. I’ve taken this to heart and I’ll be extra careful from now on to stick to the server rules.

Hello Walksy, thanks for taking the time to make a ban appeal.

Using timestamps provided to build a timeline & the location being in the Foundation Courtyard from my own investigation & your statements, I reached out to a member of SL to assist me in determining what constitutes the start and stop of these situations. After discussion it was determined that it does violate Fail RP - Combat Holstering, as such a penalty was issued with accordance to guidelines.

I wish you luck on the appeal.

Kind regards, Anderson.

Thanks for going through my appeal and explaining your decision, I appreciate the effort from both you and the SL member in looking at the situation.

After reading your response, I want to clear up something about the combat holster ruling. If the server logs show the combat between the last Nu-7 member in the courtyard before I put my freedom away, It would show that the combat was over and that there was enough due time before I re entered combat. Furthermore according to the server rules, once all hostiles are dealt with, combat ends for the player.

Unless you have something else proving combat was still going on, the logs should make it pretty clear I wasn’t in an active engagement anymore. My actions should line up with the server’s combat rules, so it shouldn’t count as FailRP / Combat Holstering.

I know these situations can get tricky, and I appreciate you taking the time to look at this again.

Hi @Walksy ,

Thanks for taking the time to make a ban appeal.

So after looking at the death and holster logs i can see that you killed a dea agent and then 3 seconds later you holster a freedom, 4 seconds after you holster the freedom you are killed by an nu7. Our rules dictate for holstering is that you must wait 10 seconds after ending combat and not being engaged with that timeframe. In that that you killed a dea agent and being killed by an nu7 was 7 seconds. As such the ban is valid.
