What will you do to stop this from happening again: I am looking for an SL to weigh in on the situation. I killed a D-Class for not following orders, being outside of D-Block, and being out of cuffs. I was banned because 2 HMODS and a MOD agreed that the D-Class was following orders and that my kill fell under RDM.
I do not believe this to be as clear cut as they make it out to be. Here is the clip:

They claim he was body blocked, but that was not apparent to me. I do not know why Soup was standing in the doorway, but I was focused on the uncuffed D-Class and the fact he was not looking where he was going and staring at me.
The GENSEC handbook also justifies D-Class termination due to being in unauthorized areas, which outer D-Block is often considered an unauthorized area considering my experience and the experiences of others being terminated for being in outer D-Block while unrestrained. There was also a Code-2 active.
I can provide further explanation if needed.
Why should you be unbanned: I understand the rules of termination in more clear cases, and I believe they apply here. I think my situation was at least somewhat reasonable. This ban reflects poorly on me, even if it is brief, and I do not believe it is warranted.
Even once my ban expires, I would still like an SL to look at this and see if it may be removed from my record.
