What server are you applying for: SCP-RP (USA)
Your Username: John "Survivor" Maverick
Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:183807020
Discord Username: divineterror666
Age: 16
What's your current playtime: For the past 30 days I've been on the server for 3 days, 18 hours, and 43 minutes as of writing. The total amount of playtime I have earned/spent on the server is roughly 90 days. I first joined sometime late in 2022.
Do you have a mic: Yes.
Your characters name: Foundation: John 'Survivor' Maverick
CI: Vlad N. (Not in CI anymore)
Civilian: Strauss Goldman
UNGOC: N/A
Is this the first application you made? If no, link all previous applications: Yes, this is my first staff application.
Have you received any kicks/warns/bans, and if so, why: No, I have not received any kicks, warns, or bans and I continue to do my best to avoid doing anything that may violate the server's rules.
How many hours can you be on everyday: Being that it is summer my activity while be higher than what it will be when school starts back up again. My average time on the server right now is anywhere from 2-4 hours. If I get staff that would likely get bumped up to 2-6 hours on average. When school starts back up I can only get on the server about 2-4 hours unless it is a weekend. On weekends I can get on anywhere from 2-12 hours. 12 hours is a little bit over the longest time I was on the server in one sitting which was on a weekend, so I'm setting that at my max possible playtime for one day.
Do you have any previous experience as a staff member in a community: Yes, I was a staff member for another, non-GMod server a good while ago. At the height of my career, I was a Sr. Admin who specialized in ban appeals. Now I, as well as the other Sr. Admins, did not hold the rank for long as it was quickly decommissioned since the specialties the rank dealt with was hardly utilized. This was not due to the Admins not doing their assigned tasks, but rather due to the majority of those tasks only being able to be cared out by people who were of a much higher rank then us. While most of the ban appeals I dealt with were only appealable to ranks higher than mine, some of the bans I was able to work on appealing on my own were often denied due to the appealer not having sufficient evidence or reasoning to remove the ban. I'd hand out about 1-4 bans and a handful of warnings a day while I was a staff member.
Tell us about something that you're proud that you've achived in-game: I'm proud of my acquisition of the E-11 Commander and Site Advisor roles on the server. While I don't boast about it often, I pride myself on having run what I believe to have been the most stable E-11 post-HCZ Update. While I have yet to achieve anything of major importance as a Site Advisor, I will say that I'm proud of how watchful I am with what is going on in the site. I've shut down a good number of DC raids just as they started; and I've caught numerous 008 raids as they began in HCZ. People really underestimate how beneficial it is to have a "Big Brother" looking out for you and I've always took it upon myself to keep an eye on things when no one else will. Back onto the E-11 side of things, I was slightly prideful of how easy it was for me to notice discrepancies in documents or policies and be able to track down the correct form of those things and ensure anything referencing it was also up to date. I did my best to ensure E-11's policies matched and were kept up to date and kept on top of changing documents that needed to be updated.
Why would you like to become a staff member: Well, I'd like to give this server's staff a hand just as I did the other one. I see that rule breaks or sits in general are rather frequent here and I'd like to provide assistance in taking care of them, so the server's never have that much of a buildup especially when a limited number of staff are on. At the end of the day, I just want to help ensure that people can enjoy what this server has to offer without anyone else spoiling the fun for them by breaking the rules or by doing any other disruptive action that a staff member can handle.
If you could improve something on the staff team, what would it be and how would you do so: I feel like an issue the staff team has is the somewhat uncommon accusation of bias. now personally, I believe this is a rather simple issue that has nothing to do with bias to one's faction like Foundation or CI but rather an issue with rule or ruling transparency. An issue some people have with staff is the "invisible rules" that are enforced on the server but are not listed anywhere as putting them on the rulings or main rules page would be unnecessary since those situations are not common. I, however, would advocate that after someone or a good number of people has been punished for an "invisible rule", it should be added to the rule or ruling page as it is clearer a prevalent issue that should be clearly stated so it is easier to avoid and handle if or when it does happen. I, as a staff member, would like to help the server's people know about and understand as many rules as they may have questions about including the "invisible" ones. I'd also like to help ensure rules are kept up to date and that the two rule pages are consistent with one another.
