What does this suggestion change/add/remove:
This suggestion converts the main door outside of SCP-008 to a translucent level 4 bulk that can be manually opened and closed. It will still automatically close as a quarantine door and create an additional level of security for one of the site's most dangerous scps.
Has something similar been suggested before? If so, why is your suggestion different?:
No.
Possible Positives of the suggestion (At least 2):
- Prevents normal-sized SCPS from breaking soup doors (This has happened several times during breaches, creating another thing to worry about trying to get a techie and securing it).
- Gives level 4 personnel a way to lockdown the chamber.
- Still allows players to see through the bulk and check it safely during patrols/sweeps.
- Creates better security.
Possible Negatives of the suggestion:
- CI/Intruders will have another door to get through.
- A bit of development time creating a new door texture.
Based on the Positives & Negatives, why should this suggestion be accepted:
I feel this suggestion should be accepted because it helps aid with SCP breaches and enhances overall security. Leaving it as a non-biometric keypad can help balance how many doors would need to be hacked through if they already had a keycard. Since a bulkhead already exists there, development should be straightforward by adding a new texture and standardizing the roleplay practice of keeping it closed. Below is a little concept art of what it could look like.
(Glass doesn't have to be red, just gives a more dangerous feel to it.)
