The Dragon flies off to the sunset at last...

You know, I have to give credit where credit is due. Civil Networks with all it's up moments and down moments has remained one of the most fun and stressful parts of my recent life. But, the last part of the prior sentence is coming up, life.

I have recently found myself experiencing a new form of burnout, one that isn't just a "Oh I could just come back" kinda burnout. This feels more natural, as if my mind has finally told me "It is time to move on".

I joined Civil Networks around September 4th, 2022. Nearly four years of my life have been with this community, even with the on and off moments. I have been here when Internal Affairs and the Intelligence Agency were around, when we had the classic Heavy Containment Zone that didn't give me an anyeurism trying to remember it, when the GOC was first introduced, I was around for a lot. I remember becoming an Internal Affairs Ambassador, my first real CL4 position in the Foundation. I remember the highest rank I achieved was GOC Captain. I remember being between the US and UK servers on numerous occasions, getting into both Alpha-1 and Omega-1, serving twice as Ethics Committee Assistant, serving twice as GOC Commissioned Officer, joining CI for a bit, making friends and enemies, watching O5 Councilors and Ethics Members come and go, seeing Site Directors rise and fall. But, I think I have seen enough for my journey.

I feel like this is my chance at freedom. No more having 50 tabs open on my browser to keep track of fictional handbooks and enough forms to make an IRS Secretary blush. Now, I can finally play my silly games and have fun after work, instead of putting in time for an endless cycle of self abuse.

Astro Hyena | You are one of the best staff members and my favorite member of Alpha-1. You have always been strong willed and easy to talk to. Thank you for being there when I needed you. I know Alpha-1 is in good hands with you.
Tiago | The unc of Alpha-1, and also my favorite member of Alpha-1 (You and Astro share a spot :steamhappy:).
Xrali "TimeKeeper" Tanri | You have been an inspiration with PAC, and one of the most notable anomalous personnel members. Thanks for being kind.
Zorgaro'th "Fenrir" Xeltor | You are a member of E-11 who had always been kind to me as Anomalous Personnel. I fought by your side in many breaches, and you have always shown camaraderie. Thank you.
Crow Bertly | You are my brother of the Ethics Committee. Bless you and your kind heart. I better hear Ethics Chairman Crow Bertly in my future or I am gonna detonate the Omega Warhead on Pinewood.
Tiffany Lilly | Absolute goober in Medical, always found a way to make me smile. Thanks, really.
Drake Hotson | Hands down the MOST memorable Director of ANY department. God bless, hope to see you as The Administrator in the future.
Johnson J. Marauder | You get a shout out because holy hell you ARE the Chaos Insurgency man.
Bear | I genuinely cannot find the words to explain how much you have helped me over the time I have been in Civil. You get the #1 spot in my shout outs.
Blob | Hehehaw, silly GOC man. You get a good shout out.
William “Bubbles” | The kindest person in Site Administration. When I was first designated as Anomalous Personnel, you reached out to me and helped me integrate. You have nothing but my best blessings, friend.
Coral | You are single-handedly the coolest bird I know of. And, a true friend. Thank you.

I could continue naming people, but I really want to keep it short and sweet. I will still be around the discord, but probably not in the future. I don’t know, we will see. But, thank you all. These four years have been memorable, and I will not forget my time here.

In the end, I did learn to fly. They always asked me if I could, but I never could. It took practice, patience, and endurance, but when I unfurled my wings fully and felt the wind press against them with each flap, I finally took flight. To me, it was my sign to go. The gods whispered in my ear, telling me of my birthplace. They told me my family was there, that we could be reunited at last. And you know what I did?
I listened, and I flew...
...I flew home.

Goodbye Site-65, thank you for the memories.
