An unusual event occurred involving one of the SCP Foundation’s janitors, Jankerson “Jank” Jank. During his routine yearly medical check-up, a doctor noticed a strange pattern in Jankerson’s brain activity. The doctor didn’t inform Jankerson but passed the information to the Director of Medicine, who then contacted the Site Director.

It appeared that something was inside Jankerson’s mind.

A few days later, the strange reading suddenly became active. Jankerson was seen standing still, staring at nothing, when the anomaly began to speak — but its voice came out in reverse. Audio specialists were called in to decode the recording, which revealed the message: “I am alive.”

From that point forward, the anomaly was referred to as SCP-9837.

Further testing showed that SCP-9837 had taken control of roughly half of Jankerson’s brain, though his neural pathways remained intact. This allowed Jankerson to continue normal activity, while SCP-9837 could take temporary control whenever it wished.

During the first recorded interview, SCP-9837 explained that it had existed on Earth for an extremely long time — sometime after the extinction of the dinosaurs. It claimed to have inhabited countless hosts throughout history and even referenced a few by name. When asked why it chose Jankerson, it described him as its most “fractured” host. Researchers believed this referred to Jankerson’s unstable mental state, as he was known to behave erratically.

The second round of testing revealed more details about SCP-9837’s nature. It stated that it feeds on the human psyche, drawing energy from trauma, fear, and emotional distress. It also admitted that if its current host were to die, it could transfer into another living being nearby.

This discovery led the Foundation to negotiate with SCP-9837. A deal was established:

  • Jankerson would remain stationed at his current site under observation.
  • The Foundation would not attempt to remove or terminate SCP-9837.
  • SCP-9837 would be allowed limited freedom to manifest and communicate, as long as it remained cooperative and non-hostile.

During these discussions, SCP-9837 revealed another ability — it could extend its host’s lifespan, claiming to increase it up to 225 years. It stated this allowed it to feed longer without needing a new host.

Given the potential risk of transference, the Foundation accepted the terms. For now, Jankerson and SCP-9837 coexist within controlled conditions.

SCP-9837 remains under observation.
OOC Info:this is just my third attempt to make jankers an anomaly except its now more about his craziness i improved the grammar with ai however all of the info is still hand written by me ofcourse the feature of increased age limit seems not much of a powerplay in my opinion and ofcourse i believe jankers could be referred sometimes as Scp 9837-1 but possibly not
