What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for the role of Ethics Member. It has been a long time coming since I decided I wanted to become an Ethics member I have had my eye on the position for quite some time but I have always believed myself unworthy of the position and have held off from applying for it for all this time, however throughout this year I have had a rocky start with many problems all around but after listening to feedback and engaging with people these last couple months I have made all my best attempts to improve myself to the best I can be and at long last I believe I have reached the point in which I have fixed all my past issues and now believe I am at a point in which I can capable of pursing this position.
As of current the ethics committee has been rather empty with just the chairman and for some time there was no one at all, this has attributed to me wishing to pursue the position for a few reasons, the first of which I feel as without the committee around large quantities of potential RP is being squandered and missed due to the lack of RP leaders in ethics to bring it about, this is especially true for people such as the ECAs and Omega-1 who thrive off of RP driven and created by ethics members which then reflects onto others whom they would RP with such as A-1, OSAs and O5 who would be having their usual back and forth with each other. Continuing on, I would also like to ease the burden off the current committee members, that being just the chairman currently, as the number of people in the committee have been frighteningly low for a while now, with committee members leaving without applicants to replace them forcing more and more work onto the ever shrinking committee till the point it was completely empty for a small time being. I would also like to apply at this particular time because I feel with the low small size of the Ethics Committee it would be a great opportunity for a fresh start for myself and the committee and the chance to bring about change to improve roleplay on the server as a whole.
My time on the server has shown me so much over the years and has completely changed my view of RP as a whole on this ancient game after years and years of playing it, the creation of RP I have seen from others and have had the privilege to create myself have been an absolute joy and I have become a far more RP focused player overall. However I am at the point of which in both my current positions as ISD and O-1 that I feel my ability to create RP has been stretched to the limit, during these times I have come to play a character, I have come to create as much varied RP as possible and I have come to encourage and push/assist others in creating their own RP but I am now at a point where I wish to take this further. As an ethics member I would be in the greatest position possible to create RP for anyone on the server with little to no restrictions on what can be done, I want to use this to create varied, inclusive and most importantly fun RP for everyone.
For the better half of a year now I have been a part of the Internal Security Department and Omega-1 having risen through the ranks all the way to commissioner and Sergeant however after considerable time in these departments juggling my commitment to each one I have reached the point in which I believe I have done everything I have ever wanted to do in the departments and achieved my goals, my time in ISD I have used to train new members giving them a true sense for the job and pushing people to create RP and to not to be shy when attempting to do so and although I feel many people do not really realise it I have been happy to see how much some members of ISD have grown and will carry on to be even better. I am at the point now in which I feel there is very little left for me to do and as such I wish to leave and pursue bigger and better things on the server, being an ethics committee member would be the very best thing for me.
Overall I would like to become an ethics member because I believe there are many things I would like to do and many changes I would like to make in order to facilitate and enhance RP and RP creation throughout the server, I want to tackle many of the problems with the server head on, some of the most notable problems I'd like to tackle is the repetitive gameplay loops of many departments devoid of qualitive RP and barriers between departments that block or discourage interaction or roleplay with each other. The biggest change I would like to make for the server is the impact it feels Site-65 has, currently it feels as though Site-65 is a cog in a machine that continually turns making the same cycle over and over again but the machine never works, it never does anything, this is the greatest problem I feel at the moment of writing this because sometimes I feels as though the roleplay done has no meaning when it's all said and done. It is this feeling I wish to rectify by creating the appearance of progress towards the foundations mission statement and to use the resources at my disposal to do so such as the ECAs and Omega-1.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
I believe I am a worthy candidate for the position of Ethics Committee for a number of reasons, the first reason being that I am man of change. As stated previously at the start of the year I had a rocky start and was given many words to think about and during my time I have heeded the words of others and taken the opportunity to improve myself to the best of my abilities rather than dismiss the feedback they have given me or believe them to be wrong, to sum it up I am someone who can handle the criticism of others and use it to better myself. In addition to this I have also given my own feedback to others and helped them to improve themselves, most notably within ISD where I have pushed people to create their own RP and to not be discouraged when in a tricky situation.
Furthermore I have spent a long time playing on the server and have played on most of the jobs it has to offer, this has given me great insight and experience into each of these jobs and their respective gameplay loops as such I have been able to see all the positives and negatives within each department alongside how they have grown and changed to adapt to all these issues. Like I said in my reasoning for applying for ECM I would like to tackle the problems with some departments gameplay loops that pervert or heavily hinder the inclusion of RP, it is because of my experience that I have been able to find these problems and as such it will enable me to provide solutions to these issues. One example of this is the E-11 gameplay loop, E-11s primary duty is the containment of SCPs on Site-65 and their gameplay loops revolves around them guarding HCZ, stopping breaches from occurring due to D-class or CI raids and re-containing SCPs when they have been breached, due to this it has become a continuous problem that E-11 have very little opportunity for RP as their duty requires them to be guarding HCZ almost all the time, and the attempts made in the past to provide RP for E-11 have had little to no effect or substance behind them. I wish to tackle this issue by giving more purpose and impact to E-11, returning to my earlier point on why I was applying about how Site-65 feels like it has no impact, the main way I would do this is by breaking down the barrier between them and other departments and to give them something to work towards.
I have spent a lot of my time cultivating my roleplay ability in both how I carry out and create roleplay, one of my biggest examples of this is the creation of my character Allister Stewart I believe this to be one of my best examples of roleplay as it shows off my character creation ability and my ability to play that character, I believe this to be especially good as most people do not play a character on the server and most people do not change when they create new characters where as here it is clear to all that Allister is a character being played who is starkly different from my usual self showing my commitment to roleplay. Furthermore I have created much RP during my time on the server that has been ever evolving, at the start of the server the most RP I created were tests on researchers which although were handled well and were nice bits of RP they were extremely exclusive and had little to no impact, however as time went by my ability to RP increased more and more now I commonly create inclusive and larger levels of RP that attempt to engage as many people as possible. A few examples of what I have done can be found below:
During my time in IRU as CI, myself and a couple others carried out in-depth and RP driven Espionage against both the Foundation and GOC in order to increase tensions between the two and cause war, this involved ascertaining information from deep cover raids in which we want undercover up to a couple hours to fit in and gather intelligence and recover documentation from each side, this was then followed up by repeated contacting of personnel on each side sharing them bits of information and attempting to paint a distorted picture of each other. Although war never did break out between the factions and they instead turned on us I still regard this as some of my most impactful RP.
During an audit I had lead on E-11 we had discovered that E-11 were in possession of stolen GSD uniforms used in an assassination attempt of the Director of External Affairs, I started up an investigation into this in which we questioned E-11 personnel and contacted DEA about the affair to discover the culprits behind the assassination attempt, we found out that there were 3 conspirators however one of them had already left the server the second was unknown and further investigation was unable to discover their identity and the third and final conspirator was Dennid. After capturing Dennid for questioning he would not break under interrogation and due to the fact we did not possess enough evidence against him to win a tribunal I took justice into my own hands and silenced Dennid myself for the greater good of the foundation.
During a time of great impeachment of ISD by the ethics committee I took it upon myself to save ISD by going down the path of corruption bringing along other ISD personnel as well, this is where we began to accept bribes from people to let them go when arrested or to look the other way. This continued further when attempts to make ISD great again by further corruption through evidence tampering caused Jacobi Masters (my character at the time) to get caught in the act and being forced to flee the site where he was never seen again.
At last I have created various operations within ISD for personnel to par take in such as "Broken Hammer" "Uniformed Fox" "Penny Popped" "Need to know" and my current ongoing operation "Crack Down".
Finally I believe myself to be a worthy candidate for ECM because of my leadership abilities, most notably within ISD. During my time in ISD I have lead those around me constantly pushing them to be better, improving them bit by bit, continually and consistently I have lead ISD and ensured personnel were organised and given tasks to do and RP for them to perform. I have on many occasions stood up for others in ISD when they have needed me and have always had their backs however I have also been a force for change and have actively attempted to give meaningful feedback to people and correct them when they are in the wrong, a few of the major things I have pushed for in ISD is consistency of RP creation from ISD leadership, fair and just arrest times based both IC and OOC because the breaking of the FLC in itself is roleplay and is a fundamental part to ISDs gameplay loop as such players should not be given high jail times purely for standard charges, and giving confidence to people within ISD and aiding them to carry out their duties.

What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
The core duty of the Ethics Committee is to decide what is deemed acceptable and unacceptable to the mission statement within the foundation. The foundation is a necessary evil that is required for the sake of the world to uphold security and safety from the anomalous, it is the job of the Ethics Committee to determine which evils the foundation commits are acceptable horrors for the mission statement or are unnecessary cruelties or wastes of resources. Nothing the foundation does should be done for personnel benefit/gain, amusement and entertainment of it's personnel it is done because it is required nothing more nothing less. All responsibilities of the Ethics Committee stem off from this principle.
The undertaking of tribunals is a key responsibility of the Ethics Committee, it is the Ethics Committee job to run, uphold and update the systems off of which tribunals operate. Members of the Ethics Committee will preside over tribunals as judges and determine the verdict and sentence based on the facts of the case and evidence laid before them by the 2 parties. The use of tribunals allows for the creation of extensive and entertaining roleplay and an opportunity to create unique and more RP driven punishments outside of mere jail sentences.
Deployment of Emergency Response Teams are a critical part of a CL5 personnel's duties during mass breaches in which ERT are required to assist with the breach either because the SCPs pose a major risk of breaching to the surface and entering pinewood or because on site MTF are unable to deal with the breach without massive casualties to both combative and non-combative personnel due to the scale and severity of the breached SCPs. In the event ERT fail and all hope is lost it is the duty of CL5 personnel to activate the Alpha Warhead and order the immediate evacuation of all staff to the surface in order to ensure the SCPs do not breach to surface.
The Foundation Legal Codex is under the complete purview of the ethics committee, it is the job of the ethics committee and it's members to ensure the FLC stays up to date, is relevant for the time and has the appropriate amendments made to it when the ethics committee have decided to alter the law. It is the responsibility of the ethics committee to oversee the ISD department in their enforcement of the FLC to maintain proper law and order and to ensure the ISD department are upholding their duties.
Utilisation of Omega-1 and ECAs are a core responsibility for the Ethics Committee, many ways in which Omega-1 may be utilised are: Assassinations, Escorts, Interrogations, Missions, Investigations, Stopping info breaches and Deployment of Omega-1 when primary action has been sanctioned by a majority vote from the committee to remove all 13 O5 council members and replace them with new personnel. A few ways ECAs may be utilised are: Meetings, Proxies, Interviews, Documentation/Paperwork, Minor Tribunals, General Assistance, Operations.
Active oversight and co-operation with the O5 Council to ensure foundation operations are run smoothly for the purpose of the mission statement but also to ensure the O5 Council do not stray from the mission statement and become self centred. In the event an O5 Council Member begins to stray from the path of the mission statement the Ethics Committee can and should attempt to peacefully deal with the issue in private with the O5 Council member however in the event the O5 does not listen and continues to stray from the mission statement than further action may be required by Omega-1 and as previously mentioned above if all the O5 are straying from the mission statement than primary action may be used as a last resort to restore order.

The Ethics Committee are expected to maintain proper roleplay within the server and ensure a healthy environment exists on the server to conduct said roleplay, this can be done OOC by contacting other players on the server such as the O5 members to bring up out of character concerns regarding the server itself that may negatively impact the overall performance and quality time of the players.
