-Guest Rosswell

-Arthur E. Cooke
Is this the first application you made? If no, link all previous applications:
Have you received any kicks/warns/bans, and if so, why (type /warnings in-game):
-Fail RP for not listening to MTF e-11 as a researcher. A kick because I was stuck in a death loop. Fear RP because I didn't listen to CI whilst a gun was pointed at me (I think). Finally ARDM because I stabbed a few d-classes as a tech expert.
How many hours can you be on everyday:
Between 4-6 (since i also do shift work i’m usually on after work though unless something comes up)
Do you have any previous experience as a Gamemaster/Event Manager in a community:
Last year I was really into Half-Life RP. I applied for GM on a server in which I was mostly doing passive-style events (like maintenance requirements, housing block infestation/biotic clear-up duty, and supply raids). But my main event idea was that I had a cult of headcrab worshippers that saw them as a next step in human evolution. If I still had the doc I used to plan it, I would link it, but I can’t seem to find it. Earlier this year I was a ‘Staff Member’ on a Star Wars RP server in which I did similar things, but I hosted a few big events which had ups and downs, but overall they had a short storyline. Like, my first event was supposed to be a democratic meeting between the Geonosians and the Republic, which had to change due to it being a player choice (which I do highly encourage; it keeps the story from being just a one-track slop story). The Geonosians then attacked the Republic base, which resulted in the democratic member being taken prisoner, sparking a rescue mission later down the line. I would say I have 3-4 months of game mastering under my belt but over 4 years' worth of RPing under my belt.
Do you have any advanced skills that would benefit the GM team, such as PAC-3, dupes building, art creation and others? If yes, give us your best example of putting that skill into practice:
As far as PAC-3 goes, I am quite rusty. I have a basic level of knowledge on how to use PAC-3; however, I have practiced creating characters, with Heinrich being my most advanced character, as he is based on three separate models and includes numerous events that form the core of his character. In terms of arts, I’m no master of the arts, but I do dabble in the purposely bad style of art, mainly due to the fact I cannot create a wondrous piece of art. The most I did was take free-use clip art of an empty SCP logo and place an outline of a brain in it to use for Heinrich’s personal project that didn’t see the light of day. Dupes I am fairly comfortable in making; however, I wouldn't mind getting tips from others or helping others with their dupes. I believe I do excel with the more creative style of writing, one which I can link (do bear in mind I do wish to add to it, as it is a part of Guest’s Lore), SCP-41257 "The Spaceship"

Dimensional De-Stablisation:
What I see for this idea is a cartographer using either a broken bridge or a bad projection. At this point, the cartographer would need to become more involved with the creation of the portal, either by attempting to fine-tune the projector for a smoother opening or by failing to do so, which would result in a strange figure exiting the dimension. It could be from the same dimension, or it could have accidentally gotten caught up in the destabilisation. I think this situation would make for intriguing roleplay for MTF E-11, who would have to keep the entity under control while the RSD focuses on writing down what happened. However, the anomaly should stay small so that it adds to the roleplay instead of being a big event. It would be wonderful if we could get ETS to help.
Other elements that could be involved include making one of Non-Spec's CCs more comfortable for the creature. However, if the cartographer was successful in stabilising the portal, it could be beneficial for their own character/doc writing, depending on whether they write one up for it.

The Ever-waiting Hitchhiker:
An old man stands in the streets of Pinewood near the gas station. His appearance looks almost bonelike; he only has his thumb out, looking towards Pinewood. It seems like he's trying to get out of the area. He seems off; no one stops for him, and when they do, they look back and realise he is no longer there. only to reappear somewhere else. The ever-waiting Hitchhiker, as described in ghost stories, is a mysterious figure. Either the GOC, CI or Parawatch could try and investigate the stories further by trying to find him and question him. Now this could be a cat-and-mouse chase, forcing those involved to try to work together in an attempt to catch him. The idea for the tale may seem a bit out of the ordinary, but I do love a good mysterious fellow who's not got much to say to anyone and disappears without a trace. It could mainly be a bit of fun for the surface people trying to find him along the stretch of road.
Please list one Event idea for the United Nations Global Occult Coalition:
The Martian Invasion:
(Admittedly it is a similar idea to my other idea but with a few changes.)
The GOC has received more and more reports that the radio at the petrol station is picking up strange signals. The GOC has to figure out what the radio is saying and process the information. They were able to read part of the message, which said, "...The Mayor...Under Control...Act Fast." They did well at their meeting. They would try to get the mayor to answer their questions by arresting him. When the mayor is questioned, it looks like everything is going as planned at first. That is, until the mind control device is turned on and he starts talking like the radio. When you look more closely, the mayor says that surgery put the control chip in his head. The GOC would take the mayor to the hospital to have the implant taken out of his head. Once it was taken out they would be able to pick up a trace signal from the chip and find out where it came from. They follow the signal to a civilian's house, where two aliens have set up a camera to keep an eye on the mayor. The GOC has the option to kill or capture the aliens. No matter what happens, they will have to deal with the mess that this cover-up would have made.
Please list one Event idea for the Chaos Insurgency:
The 939 Habitat:
CI gets alerted to a local cave system that seems to house a group of SCP-939 instances. The mission is simple: extract the instances and send them off to a training facility where they will be turned into a weapon for them to use. This mission could go a multitude of ways; however, it is for the player to decide. The instances would be taken to a pre-made replica of a cave system, where the GMs would control 939 instances, consisting of around 3–4 of them, including one smaller instance that is clearly an infant and does not know who or what to attack. Each instance would have a specific role; "Alpha" would serve as the primary defence against the invaders. Using the others, they have to try to corner the CI. The larger creatures would try to utilise their biology to make the CI forget why it is there, hoping to confuse it enough for a quick and easy meal. However, the decision to call the mission a lost cause or to continue the assault rests with the GM in charge (playing as CI Command over the radio, that is).
Please list one Event idea for the SCP Foundation:
The Devil came to the foundation:
Hellish-looking symbols appear in the core sector, and a devil escapes from the fiery pit that appears within the circle. Standing atop a box, he would issue a challenge to those nearby. "If you can beat me in a fiddling competition, I will let you contain me, but if I win, I get your soul." A verbal agreement to the terms and conditions initiates the challenge and starts the fiddling competition. The winner can be determined through rolls or an audience vote, but those who lose will become soulless (still alive, but lacking emotions and other human qualities). However, being cocky, he will continue the challenge, putting the souls he collected on the line as well instead of his containment. It would be a funny little event where he could pop up periodically, issuing the challenge over again if he does manage to escape.
Please list a Major Event or Map Change idea (Involving all sides and the entire server):
The Fog:
A fog rolls in from parts unknown; it seems to affect any attempts of contact outside of Pinewood. As it settles in the pinewood area, the major GOI groups are worried about what to do. Those who were outside their bases at the time have lost connection with them. SOP members at the compound report hearing strange whispering and seeing oddly dressed people in the shadows of the mist. Some weak-minded folks walk into the fog and vanish, their screams heard in the distance. GOC members attempted to contact nearby bases, but each radio channel was met with the strange choir’s singing, prompting a lockdown to protect all life in the DMZ. CI, on the other hand, is dealing with the creatures that Mist harbours. These creatures are assaulting their main gate, attempting to open it while defences are in place. Those indoors are preparing for the worst.
Main Goal:
What elements can make an event unenjoyable? Include one example, avoiding the typical answers if possible.
I believe not letting players have a choice can severely affect how an event is planned out. Usually I'd have something lined out, such as the beginning, ending and plot devices, there would be a story behind the event or series of events. Usually if i am to play a character i would have a set list on how to portray them, as in how they would act, their personality and a disposition (usually just notes on my phone as tabbing out can be a bit of pain). It’s like a tattle tell game, the options that the player makes can affect the ending of the game. I feel like having a SET ending can seem a bit dull but having players impact the ending can be for the best.
And finally, what do you wish to achieve by becoming a Gamemaster?
I wish to achieve more knowledge on how to do things such as PAC-3 and some art lessons (admittedly, I'm not sure how likely I'll pursue the latter option), but overall I want to have fun, creating stories and whatnot that both GMs and players can enjoy being a part of. I’ve not had the confidence to submit to the GM since my last one was denied. It was only yesterday (the 26th of December’s event, Synergy's event) that I decided to submit due to the amount of PMs I got from other GMs saying I should apply for it. I’d be grateful if I was given the opportunity to GM for this server. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
