What Ethics Committee role are you applying for, and why:
I am applying for Ethics Committee Member.
I am applying for ECM because of my strong, and non-wavering passion for the Ethics Committee and the server. If I become an ECM, not only would have reached a long time goal of mine but I also would be able to be the backbone of what helps keep this server going. I also want to drive others to be great as I think that especially those who are new to the server, and general players are greatly influenced by higher ranking people like ECMs and I want them to have a good impression on the Committee, the server and the RP it holds. From the moment I became an ECA I loved being within Ethics and I think my tenure of over 1 year and 3 months can back that up. Finally I think it will better me and benefit me in the best ways, I believe it will help me realize more about the server which will help me fix issues that I could resolve and help me improve my RP for everyone.

What makes you the best candidate for the Ethics Committee?:
First let me begin with:
1. My plans:
- Omega-1: Omega-1 does not have any storyline going on and as such I want to introduce one as I think it would be fun for everyone to partake in and it would give everyone a chance to take charge during certain situations that could resonate with their lore or knowledge, further helping their RP skills or drive for RP. As of right now, I have none planned as either way if I did get this role, I want time to settle into the role before doing anything major. Secondly, while this is a minor thing but important, I want to aid Omega-1 in RPing with departments they do not get the chance to RP with as much such as a DEA in which I could collaborate with Game Masters and set up a fun RP scenario where they are hunting down a treasonous Foundation member that has left site.
- ECA: I think as of this moment, ECAs are perfectly fine except I would want to bring forward a few more orders that would be fun for them all to partake in. I have two good orders that construct on RP and that are fun to interact with. First, an investigative order, where ECAs would need to disguise as researchers and follow some other, real researchers along on a test as recently the Committee has gotten reports of a handful of researchers committing unethical tests by essentially guiding a D-Class to their death which stems from RSD leadership (This is a scenario made for the sake of the order) but this also allows medium-term RP. Secondly, I was thinking more of an interactive order where Assistants would find someone and take them on a walk around site while speaking to them about their day, their work environments etc... while giving them morale boosters throughout the walk or anything that has them feeling down. This gives ECAs to interact with anybody while building friendships and improving people's view on the Committee.
- ISD: ISD is currently is in a good spot due to the strong leadership it has guiding it. Only thing I want to do for ISD is maybe pump out a few fun RP situations or orders such as a murder mystery which could be assisted with by a Game Master.
2. Roleplay:
Recently I have done much engagement and development of my own character which I am finding very fun and I try to involve others in such as E11 for the OO8 part of my lore. As for general RP I commonly walk around site attempting to engage or create RP for others. For Long term RP, I unfortunately have nothing to show for as of right now. And recently I have not been doing as much RP as I would love to due to me being in an important school year, homework, study and other contributes that hinder me from being able to get on the server until around 8-9 PM and having to get off again shortly after to go to bed for school. However I am trying my hardest to get on as early as possible to do as much RP as I can.
3. Experience:
I have been an ECA for over 1 year and 3 months, showing I have lots of experience within the Ethics Committee, and in this time I have seen plenty of ECMs come and go. With every new ECM I learnt something new and I have always kept it in mind for when I become an ECM which leads me to believe I am well prepared to take on this role.
4. Goals:
My main overall goals are to better the site, Omega-1 and the ECAs. From RP to combat to good teamwork. I also strive to improve my RP far beyond what I used to imagine I could do, there is always room for improvement.
5. General things:
I believe I show good initiative, leadership, trustworthiness, teamwork, document writing, I am reliable and efficient with my work. I think that all of these contributes makes me the best candidate for ECM. An example of me showing initiative and leadership is when ever I take over and attempt to de-escalate situations that have gotten out of hand, this has recently happened with GSD, RSD and ETS in which members argued and threatened each others lives.
An example of my good teamwork can be seen whenever I collaborate with my fellow assistants and they need help with something so we work together and overcome the issue which happens frequently.
Examples of when someone had trusted me and I pulled through with good results can be seen when I am delegated to write a document, speak on an ECM's behalf in a meeting and being an Assistant itself shows I am trustworthy as Ethics Assistants are trusted to represent the Committee around the site, daily.
For document writing, I cannot exactly provide example of as the document would be over 20 screenshots which would cluster this application.
6. The Committee:
I have an amazing understanding of the Committee and its entirety. The Ethics Committee was founded to do one main thing, their true purpose, to protect the O5 Council against corruption. This is done by keeping an eye on the Council’s practices and stepping against them when they are found to be doing or promoting unethical procedures. An ECM is to act as an advisory character to the O5 Council. Whenever the O5 council member is found doing any of the mentioned things above, an ECM should advise them to cease that activity however the Chairman can simply say "Stop now, or else!". If they O5 continue with their actions after being advised not to, then further action will be taken by the Committee. Next, the Committee balance that of evil and good, sometimes the Committee need to sacrifice life in order to better the Foundation or humanity, the Committee sometimes needs to be cold but never cruel. Ways the Committee balance the good and evil are seen through the FLC. The FLC has Ethics violation codes that help keep ethicalness up in site, however they also have Assistants to use as proxies if needed.
7. Primary Action:
I am fully well aware of the power, secrecy and importance of Primary Action. Primary Action is a final resort in dealing with a O5 Council Member that has become corrupt or strayed too far from the mission statement to be saved. Primary Action is the assassination of an O5 Council Member to prevent further corruption or stray from the mission statement, but it is also a reflection of the Committee's failure to save that O5 Council Member. Primary Action can only be initiated upon a vote with all 55 Committee Members and if the majority agrees, then Primary Action is to proceed. The use of Omega-1 operatives will be used to attempt and assassinate the Council Member(s) marked for assassination, this is mostly done in secret and made to look like a CI assassination.
8. Other reading / information:
I have read up on the documents: Ethics Orientation, D-Class Housing, Human Anomalies and Tahony's Proposal and I find them all pretty useful and interesting and I think that going off some of these documents it has enlightened me on how an ECM should act and how I can more accurately RP as one.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee in RP?:
- The most important one, create Roleplay for the site and everyone on the server!
- Keep the Overseer Council in line and execute primary action if it is needed.
- Work with fellow FCOM members to manage the site from the shadows.
- Uphold the mission statement and ethicality.
- Oversee the Internal Security Department.
- Reprimand any high ranking personnel that have been unethical.
- Handle IC complaints on Ethics Committee Assistants.
- Appoint a new Omega-1 Commander if there is currently none.
- Give MTF Omega-1 orders and investigations to do.
- Represent the Ethics Committee / Foundation in meetings and interactions with the GOC.
- Represent the Ethics Committee in meetings and interactions with other Foundation staff.
- Judge tribunals if required.
- Authorize the use of Advanced Armory in the case of a bad breach.
- Authorize D-Class mass termination.
- Use Ethics Committee Assistants as proxies and to uphold site-wide ethicality.
- Ensure that D-Class are being used and treated appropriately.
- Manage ECAs through oversight and operation / investigation assignment.
- Detonation of the alpha warhead in an irreversible code black.
- Deployment of ERT during a bad breach in which it is needed.
- Use Omega-1 to carry out the wishes of the Committee.
What are the responsibilities of the Ethics Committee out of RP (e.g. what applications do they handle?):
- Pre-plan storylines and Roleplay for the site.
- Liaison with O5 members to discuss current Roleplay on the server or other concerns that should be taken Out Of Character and work together on the development of RP / storylines.
- Handle the applications for Director of the Internal Security Department and Ethics Committee Assistants.
- Give a input and vote on a Ethics Committee Member application although the Chairman has final say.
- Hold meetings with CL4 and CL5 if needed to discuss something important.
- Handle OOC complaints on Ethics Committee Assistants.
- Prepare Ethics Committee Assistants for the role of Ethics Committee Member.
- Review and process demotion appeals if it comes to such a level.
