[UK] Elena Carlisle's Site Advisor Application (Zen)

Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:94216966
Discord name: deniz3n
For how long have you played on CG SCP: Since August, 2023.
Age: 23
In what country are you located?: UK
Time zone: BST/GMT
Character name(s): See forums signature.
Civilian name: See forums signature.
What server are you applying for? (SCP-RP UK or SCP-RP USA): UK
Do you have a mic?: Yes.
List all whitelisted, MTF, or CI roles that you hold or have held: See forums signature.

Have you received any kicks/bans/warning? and why?:
I have one warning from March 2025, which I received as some actions I took on a non-combative role were deemed too combative and thus FailRP.

Why are you applying for Site Advisor?:
I am interested in helping out the current Site Administration team, who seem to be doing well at the moment. It would open up some new RP opportunities which could be interesting, and I have a few ideas that I'd be interested in trying to run as SA to try and improve/expand E&TS RP, along with RP and ideas for other departments.

What makes you suitable for Site Administration?:
I have previous experience in relevant roles, such as Site Advisor, IA Ambassador, and E-11 CPT. From these and other sources, I have experience and knowledge in various useful areas for the role of Site Advisor, such as documentation, conflict resolution, RP, and a general knowledge of how all of the different departments/regiments function. I also have a variety of ideas to bring to the table that could potentially improve things (or, at the very least, are worth trialling to see how things go).

I also recently have much more time on my hands, and will do for the foreseeable future, and so I am going to be more active on the server, and in this role if given the chance.

What are the responsibilities of Site Administration in RP?:
The general responsibilities of Site Administration include:
  • Ensuring the RP health of departments and regiments under their jurisdiction
    • Including being in regular contact with their leadership, interacting with different members of different departments, listening to and acting on relevant feedback and notable issues, and carrying out audits and reviews to either ensure they do not fail, or to find out why they already are failing in different aspects
  • Appointing directors and commanders under SA jurisdiction
    • Mostly up to SD discretion, but SA members provide input and support them in this process. Other SA should also be keeping a good enough eye on the departments/regiments under their jurisdiction that they can tell if there are issues or positives regarding potential candidates.
  • Managing on-site emergencies, e.g. Code 5s
    • Mainly involving ensuring good communication between departments, and making higher-level decisions such as enabling lockdowns, closing blastdoors, authorising/deauthorising AA, and giving orders to different departments to carry out
  • Supervising GOI relations
    • Somewhat of a shared responsibility with DEA and SC. DEA should be the main ones carrying out actions in relation to this, but SA does need to supervise this, sometimes give general orders regarding them, and sometimes sign off on various things such as new treaties and proposals.
  • Managing site-wide policies, and carrying out SA's executive part in them
    • Managing policies is a shared duty with SC, and the specifics differ depending on the policy and enforcement, but SA is responsible for this, both in terms of creating new policies, updating existing ones, and generally ensuring that site policies make sense for the current RP environment, and that they aren't causing any issues for anyone in RP
    • This also includes things like signing off on things that require SA approval
  • Engaging in various justice processes
    • From job bans to tribunals to specific RP-based punishments. Mainly under the jurisdiction of ISD and EC, but some aspects such as employment-related RP and job bans are often SA's responsibility.
  • Engaging in various RP relevant to the role
    • E.g. getting involved in RSD projects as supervision/funding/etc., supporting different departments in larger-scale projects, and just doing individual roleplay with different site personnel. Also includes making your own projects and the like to engage different people in.

Please give some lore about your Site Administration character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Lore: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TAJBAio9uq4do6mpCY8Vthh0pABoGrC8GgGu2KwEzG0/edit?usp=sharing

The specific storylines I'd be involved in aren't pre-set, and I'm happy to get involved in any ongoing RP to begin with. I do, however, have plans that I'd eventually like to at least trial as part of Site Administration, such as a Senior Engineer Programme, and a few minor RP projects for E&TS and other personnel to get involved in (e.g. installing fire extinguishers and pull stations in areas of the site that don't have them).

I find your general attitude questionable within the community. On numerous occasions you have 'crashed out' over minor things; including the time when ETS was no longer being officially recognised and when I had removed your ETS Handbook from SCiPNET, where you threw a massive hissy fit over it.
This was months ago, and was also at least partially reversed. I'm also not sure I'd call complaining in mess hall for about 10 minutes "crashing out".

Have you held any CL4 roles recently? As I recall, you have not in a great while and since your previous outbursts, I don't think you have proved that you could be a SA member. As of now, I will be leaving a -Support
I'm fairly sure you don't actually play on the server anymore, so this is a really odd comment. Just checked and you haven't even posted in the Discord anything other than pinging random people since around 3-4 months ago.

I've also generally always been of the opinion that restricting someone from certain roles just because they've not held XYZ other roles recently isn't a great idea - as long as someone's been active at all, recently, showing they're actually likely to be active on the role, then it's generally not as if they'll have forgotten all of their past experience just because it's been a little while. Obviously this is just my own view on it, and current Site Administration deciding on this may see it differently, but I just wanted to give my perspective on this. I do also have past experience as a Site Advisor, which I only left because of a combination of starting to not have as much time on my hands as I had before, and department reviews eating a fair amount of time (which, to my knowledge, has changed a while back, and should no longer be an issue).

That's just... a normal response to a post? I responded to the points raised, and also pointed out that it was odd to be leaving +/-Supports on applications if you don't play the server anymore, because imo it's not particularly helpful.
well, harvey specifically was an ECM, a goated CoS and an even more goated cpt, so its fair to assume him point of view on SA related canedids, , but aside from that, its not what you said but how you said, instead of that you could have said "thanks for the feedback!", which is less crashouty, btw just to make it clear im not trying to be confrontational im just explaining why i consider this a D-1 crashout

That makes sense, and I do know that he's held various related positions, but all I did was directly address the points raised, I'm not trying to be rude here - I just try to word things neutrally/formally on things like forums applications most of the time to avoid appearing rude or that what I'm saying isn't properly thought through.

Yeah so I don’t play on the server as much currently due to exams but even with that I can still comment on whether or not I have seen you recently, and I am not saying that you should be restricted to what roles you can get but if you can be trusted as notably your past shows a clear lack of what some might call self control and for you to be escalated to a senior CL4 job from a Cl3 position would have to require a high level of trust in your abilities which I believe isn’t there with your time on the site being limited.

When it comes to how you responded to me I don’t discord for CN I’m just in the server and really I can post what I believe as that what the forums are for. You approach is very helpful in showing how even now you still lack the self improvement which lead to your situation the last time you notably played CN and once again you have shown that you can not be trusted to get through even on conversation without escalating it beyond what is necessary. Really your attitude needs fixing as this is a recurring issue with you.

I haven't seen you around too much, I'm not exactly sure what you've been up to
Your lore is a bit lackluster
More or less what Harvey and Sceptre have said

I'm not really sure what you mean with parts of this. I've been active on the server for months recently, it's not as if I've not been playing. I haven't seen you on the server (unless you use different character names like I do, and I just haven't noticed), so I was confused as to why you were commenting on applications if you (as far as I was aware) didn't even seem to play the server anymore or even be active in e.g. Discord, and so wouldn't have any knowledge on the current state of anything on the server. Especially so given I don't believe I've personally interacted with you too much, so it seems odd that you'd have much of an opinion on me either way.

If you have been playing on the server recently, then it would make sense that you'd give responses to applications like this, I just thought you hadn't, because I don't think I've seen you around at all.

I still don't know what you mean by me "escalating" things or anything like that, I literally just responded to the points raised and was confused because I thought you didn't play anymore.

I use different character names for every job - you can see these in my forums signature. This character name for the SA app is completely new. I believe I have seen you around, though I'm not sure I've interacted with you in RP yet.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by my lore being lackluster? This is a new character I've made lore for, so it doesn't have too much detail on Foundation activity because it's meant to just be backstory to build off of as SA, but if there's anything I can do to improve it, let me know.

No -/+/= support stuff here but i need to aswner something here:

Do you know that people that are in discord servers, don't need to, yk, chat and be active? Like I'm in some roblox games discord servers and i note: i'm not "active" there (By your logic: chatting and pinging) but i'm there to check for new updates for those games, teasers for new stuff for those games, voting on polls for the future of those games (which is kinda "active" i guess?) and etc. He may be still in discord but only checks there for new updates and things i listed, which is via pings and the white "hey someone typed in random channel in random discord server you in!" on the left side of discord server (discord servers tab that you are in).

Thank you for reading.

My friend here's an upstanding citizen unjustly persecuted by his peers.

I hope you get the role, community's been awful to you over the past year and I've just been here watching, gobsmacked because like, how. How does one guy put so much hard work and effort into a community only to get constantly vilified from every angle? Really doesn't reflect well, IMO. Zen just has a curse of "everyone takes everything I say in the most aggressive/inflammatory way possible" 😭

Keep up the good work, my friend.

No, I do understand that, it's just that I'd already had the thought of "I swear he left the server months ago" because I hadn't seen him for ages and vaguely remember a Leaving forum post, so I checked Discord to see if he had roles or messages or anything to prove that thought wrong. CN also kinda requires Discord for so much that it's difficult to actively play any department without using Discord at least now and then, even if you don't use it just for chatting or the like, so imo it's a pretty good measure of whether someone is active in RP (or at least, in any roles outside of the ones that are unlocked via levels).

Yeah, I can see that now from some of the responses, though I'm really not trying to be rude or anything, I'm just trying to word things at least somewhat neutrally, and I'm generally pretty direct when talking anyway, which can unfortunately be interpreted as rude sometimes.
