I have received Rdm (May 12, 2024), because I killed a D-Class as a D-Class
I have received Fail RP x2 (April 18), because I failraided the GOC base and the Foundation as CI.
I have made my mistakes when I started playing on this Server and I believe that I have since learned from them.
Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?
I have always been drawn to Medical Roles in every Department I have played (CI and NU-7) and enjoy helping people out. I believe that I am ready to elevate my responsibilities in the Medical Department.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
I have had multiple times where I took control of Medbay, when there was no Consultant or DoM on site and I had to be organized and manage a lot of patients. I have also conducted multiple Medical Licence Trainings under the supervision of Greg Vanderboobin.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
Treating a hernia. You first have to determine the severity of the hernia. This can be observed by a few characteristics:
Size of the hernia.
Pain caused by it.
And the type of hernia it is.
Depending on the observations, you have to decide if surgical treatment is appropriate. In case the hernia is incarcerated or strangulated, immediate surgery is required. Small or minimal symptomatic hernias can be endured with support of Hernia belts or medication like Ibuprofen. If surgery is required, the traditional procedure is an open hernia repair with a local anesthesia, where the affected area is disinfected, one cut is made and the protruding tissue is being pushed back into the body, a surgical mesh can than be inserted to reinforce the weakened area (This step is not necessarily required, depending on the strength of the preexisting tissue). Lastly the wound is stitched back closed and the patient should rest for some time in the Recovery room.
Patients should avoid heavy lifting for several weeks.
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
Consultants are meant to help medical staff with any questions and training. They overlook the medical department and its personnel, by being the leading personnel if the DoM is absent.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Graduating as the youngest student in her semester in med school, Emilya had always dreamed of having her own practice, helping lost souls that have no other ear to turn to. When she took out a loan to rent an office in the middle of downtown Ottawa, leaving her broke. To get her out of this mess and without a customer base, she had no choice than to take the most bizarre cases that no other therapist would think of taking.
Living paycheck to paycheck, Emilya slowly falls into the mundane routine of going over the same symptoms she thoroughly memorised in school, when on a day like any other a man stumbles through her door. He looked like he had not taken care of himself in the slightest, with unkempt hair and a coat more soaked in filth than a dog that came back from a bath in muddy water. “Are you the shrink that takes any case? Even the ones that are unsolvable?”, the man said. She reluctantly agrees, not after letting out a sigh. She could not say no, any case would help her not land on the street and ‘unsolvable’ also means long term income. So when they sat down, she noticed right away the uneasy nature of the person in front of her, looking frantically around, seeming paranoid of everyday objects in the room, she even caught him whispering in his matted beard “Stop looking at me!” to the coffee mug on her table.
She started with her routine questions, trying to get a hold of his situation. It all seemed fine, until she asked the question that seemed to trigger something in him, “So, when did you first experience these symptoms?” She could not even finish her thought, when he exclaimed: “IT WAS THAT PAINTING! I SHOULD HAVE NEVER LOOKED AT IT NEVER PONDERED ITS MEANING! IT IS THE DEVIL IN DISGUISE!" Emilya's mind flooded with questions. Painting? How can an object cause such a strong reaction? There must be another reason, right? Parental issues? No, that can't be it… before her thoughts could find any footing the figure jumped out of his chair, screaming like he had just seen a ghost behind her and vanished as quickly as he arrived.
Lying in bed that night, she could not find any rest, her mind going a million miles an hour, keeping her more awake than she had ever felt.
That night, she was visited a second time, but this time not by a patient. In front of her door was a man standing in a black suit, with a red shirt. He looked like he was straight from the mafia movies, she watched as a kid. “Good evening Dr. Rakoún”, he started talking, “may I come in? I'm here to talk to you about the patient you were seeing earlier.” “I am sorry, who are you?”, she asked through the shut door. The Man began talking calmly again: “Yes of course, how could I forget to introduce myself, I am with the Canadian Military. We have heard about your accomplishes and wanted to offer you a job as a Therapist in our Military Base-65”, “How did you even think of me for this position?”, she asked him suspiciously. “Well you had talked to one of our patients today, I believe. Sadly we cannot answer any further questions you might have about his condition, as it's classified. But if you feel that you are not living up to your potential in this dump, come with u
