- After returning to the site, i have been focusing on medical since it is one of the aspects of site 65 i had not put much time into, and after a couple weeks of this i found it very interesting and i am looking forward to continue into consultant. I have done many things in medical such as psych / physical evaluations, and i am looking forward to advancing both in medical RP and in the duties assigned to me if i advance into consultancy.
I believe that by taking this step forward in my medical career i can help in supporting the department and the rest of the facility in any way i can.
What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?:
- I have good experience in leadership both within CN as the rank of captain and in other similar positions on other servers, and i am confident on my abilities to help this department stand proud within the foundation. I also possess a comprehensive set of skills that can hopefully make me function well within this role, such as good diagnosis abilities and the composure to remain calm in dangerous or critical situations where medical is urgently required, such as a serious operation or administering first aid during any of the code situations we deal with on the daily. After dealing with many cases of medical insanity and having to perform multiple important surgeries as a senior doctor, i am able to deal with all sorts of issues that come up in the future, may it be relevant to my medical or leadership skills.
Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:
- A procedure i recently had to conduct on a member of foundation staff is a skin graft, due to the unit having received severe burns on his arm from an altercation with an anomaly.
This procedure began with patient stabilisation and injection of the necessary pain medication, as well as cleaning both the damaged and donor areas of the body, after sterilising both the burnt arm and the section of the leg the graft was going to be lifted from, i proceeded to measure the amount of skin required and used a dermatome to harvest the required layer of skin, then setting it aside on a sterile area while i prepared the arm for the graft.
After removal of the destroyed tissue has been completed and the bleeding has been stopped, i positioned the graft above the wound, ensuring it was fully covered before carefully suturing it in place and securing the area with clean bandages.
After the operation was completed i instructed the patient how to care for his wound by watching for infections and cleaning out the bandage if necessary, as well as handing him an assortment of painkillers and anti-biotics for the recovery process. Finally i advised him to return for regular checkups and
What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:
- A medical consultant's duties involve instructing and guiding new, inexperienced or idle medical personnel on how to properly take care of patients and what to do, managing how medical personnel act and making sure the department runs smoothly by conducting any trainings or licenses necessary for the medical staff to be at their peak performance.
Consultants are also tasked with dealing with more important patients with higher clearance levels, as these cases require the highest success rate possible.
Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Dave, originally a catholic priest from Spain, worked his way through university in his local church until he was able to complete his medical diploma, but due to the fact that his church work gave him no real income, he was taken in by the foundation to work in its medical department to work off his medical debt while making use of his expertise. Dave worked as hard as he could to climb up the ranks, turned down the choice he was given to be a combat medic due to his beliefs against murder and chose to focus on expanding his medical knowledge instead.
Dave has a personal passion for healing anyone he can, and is commonly seen either in the medical bay or in D-Block administering medical care to anyone who requires it.
