OOC Answer
Why are you applying for Executive Researcher?
- The reason I am applying for Executive is that I have been really enjoying the RP I have seen Executive be part of, and I would really like to be able to take a bigger part in this RP myself more often. I have also enjoyed being able to help the Jr. Researchers as a Sr. and I feel that as an Executive, I would be able to help more people with more things than I currently can as a Sr. I also feel I would be able to come up with some very interesting test ideas with the new SCP's I would have access to as A Executive Researcher.
What makes you suitable for Executive Researcher?:
- As a Sr. Researcher so far, I have been helping the Jr. Researchers with documents, pointing out areas they could improve on, as well as how to add photos and other general help when it comes to documents. I have also been authorizing Jr. Researchers to test on CL2 SCPs and watching them test, sometimes giving tips on how they could improve if they ask. I have also been entrusted to help one of the current Executives with their current projects.
I have also been entrusted with an experiment on a CL4 SCP. This is still in the works, but it will be happening sometime soon. I have worked on a number of cross-tests that have proven to be rather interesting, while also helping to discover what some of the SCPs could be useful for in a practical manner.
How many excellent-graded documents have you written? What makes a document excellent?
- 4 out of the 5 documents I have co-written have been excellent, with the fifth one being good. There are a couple of requirements to make a document excellent. The first step to an excellent document is noting everything down having details within the documents will really help you get an excellent. Documents should also have little to no spelling and grammar mistakes. Adding photos from throughout the test, as well as graphs and diagrams, will also boost you to an excellent.
What are the responsibilities of the Executive Researcher in RP?:
- There are a couple of responsibilities that an Executive must complete on a day-to-day basis. These are as follows: Executives will be authorizing tests this could be Jr. Researchers requesting to do tests one CL level above them, as well as cross-tests between Safe and Euclid or Safe and Keter SCPs. They also handle sampling requests from researchers or other departments. On boarding Jr. Researchers will also be a job for Executive, to make sure they know what they are doing within RSD.
Another main task for Executives is grading documents that other research personnel upload from Poor to Excellent depending on how well written the document is. Some other responsibilities include job banning if the person is seriously misbehaving, as well as opening and closing the bunker during a Code 5, since Executives have a CL4 card.
Character Lore
Please give some lore about your Executive Researcher character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Name: Alan Buckland
Age: 35
Place of Birth: █████████ Hertfordshire
Department: Researcher
Clearance: CL 3
Pre Foundation:
Before joining the Foundation, Alan Buckland worked as a palaeontological advisor at the ████████ Museum of █████████████ in █████████. He had been working there for almost two years after receiving his doctorate in palaeontology. His daily job at the Museum would be to help unpack and construct dinosaur fossils that came to the museum. As well as leading tours around the place. His job at the museum was only meant to be temporary, before he could move to a real dig site somewhere on the Jurassic Coast. On a pretty average Tuesday in 2███, Alan witnessed something strange while walking around the museum just before closing. He swore he saw one of the new Allosaurus skeletons move into a completely new position compared to how he had set it up just weeks prior. Over the next couple of days, Alan spent his time watching this Allosaurus to see if it would move again. Then, finally one week later on ██/██/2███, it happened again this time after closing. An intruder who had stayed after hours was attacked and ██████ by the Allosaurus skeleton. Alan witnessed the whole event. Not long after reporting this to the police, Alan was picked up by members of the Foundation to help them understand more about the Allosaurus skeleton later know as SCP-250.
At the Foundation:
After finishing his work with SCP-250, Alan was given a full-time position as a researcher for the Foundation and transferred to Site-65, where he currently works. Due to Alan's background as a palaeontologist, he has a special interest in SCPs that are even slightly dinosaur like. He is currently conducting extensive research with SCP-939 and has plans to work on tests involving SCP-682, after recently being informed about it by the Director of Research. Alan hopes to one day see SCP-250 moved to Site-65, even if it's only for a temporary amount of time, so he can continue to test on this SCP and find out if any other dinosaur skeletons have had similar anomalous effects.Storylines He Is Involved With and Ones He Wants to Do
1. Currently, the only storyline Alan is a part of is assisting Executive Researcher Scot with his project involving SCP-939. The project explores the possibility of raising an instance of SCP-939 from a young age in order to reduce its threat level and potentially integrate it into Foundation in a more controlled and manageable way.2. A possible future storyline Alan would like to pursue involves the still work in progress chemical trials on SCP-682. The goal of this research would be to reduce the entity’s extreme aggression toward all forms of life, and if successful potentially render SCP-682 compliant to some extent.
