Why are you applying for Medical Consultant?

Medical training at this current time is pretty lacking. I often see both trainees and doctors acting very unprofessionally whether it be running around brandishing harpoons or opening doors to heal d-class without any gensec present to restrain them. More than that psychological evaluation training is rarely given to doctors which isn't often needed, however it would be beneficial for a trusted doctor to be able to give a psyc eval themselves should there be no consultant available. Beyond training medical staff I also want to be a good example to medical personnel if new medical staff see Consultants acting professionally and role playing medical scenarios they will be more inclined to rp themselves. Lastly, alongside training medical staff I want to help tighten the grip on the rules and expectations set for medical personnel and punish those that choose to ignore them.

What makes you suitable for Medical Consultant?

When I first came onto this server medical was one of the first roles I played and the first I enjoyed playing. As a result I spent quite a bit of time playing doctor as well as combat medic. After some time I turned my sights to other roles enjoying time as IA, Specialist, and Researcher but in the end I came back to role I enjoyed the most, Medical. I love the role of medical keeping the site staff alive and healthy and enjoy the role play that comes with it. I have spent a lot of time on doctor and especially combat medic and already have my psych eval license. Additionally I am usually only on in the evening when consultants aren't often on so I can keep an eye on medical staff during less populated hours.

Please explain an in-game medical procedure of your choice:

I will be explaining how to help someone who has had contact with SCP 1025 'The Book of Disseises'. Since the effects of the SCP is broad there are multiple different ways to approach helping the affected individual.

First you must figure out what disseise(s) the individual has gotten, they may tell you themselves or you may have to figure it out yourself.

I will give the names and a small description of the disseises:
Asthma - This causes the affected individual to be out of breath for a short time resulting in them being unable to run or jump. This is temporary and shouldn't require medical attention.

Lung Cancer - This causes the affected individual to be constantly coughing up blood resulting in them being unable to run. This can be cured easily with Electro Shock Therapy.

Appendicitis - This causes the affected individuals appendix to swell resulting in a great deal of pain for them and resulting in them being unable to jump. All that is needed to cure this is Electro Shock Therapy.

Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva aka Stoneification - This causes the affected individuals muscle tissue and connecting tissue to become bone, this results in the affected individual to be unable to move. As with most of the disseises it can be cured with EST.

Regenerative Cancer - This causes the affected individuals cells to rapidly heal the persons body including prior injuries. However, after a short time this will kill the affected individual. EST will be needed to cure it or if they have already died then they can be revived with defibrillators.

Spontaneous Combustion - This causes the affected individual to immediately burst into flames without warning or and apparent reason. Should the individual survive the flames they can be healed back to normal but if they die their burns will be too severe for resuscitation.

Cardiac Arrest - This causes the affected individual to spontaneously have a heart attack without any reason or past heart problems. The individual will always die from this however they can be resuscitated assuming they haven't been resuscitated before.

Blindness - This causes the affected individual to lose all sight in both eyes. This is temporary and will not require medical attention.

Once you have determined what disease the individual has curing it is simple assuming it can be cured. Most of these can be solved easily with EST which all licensed medics will be able to do.

What are the responsibilities of the Medical Consultant in RP?:

A Medical Consultant is responsible for overseeing the entirety of the medical team (excluding the director of medicine of course). As a clearance level 4 member of staff a Consultant is expected to always remain professional and courteous at all times. They should be a shining example for medical staff and be greatly familiar with the rules and etiquette of the department. Their day to day duties can include performing psychological evaluations on site staff, training new and experienced medical staff to get their medical or psych eval license respectively, healing/helping injured personnel, or during their down time observing medical staff to ensure they are performing their role correctly.

Please give some lore about your Medical Consultant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Jack was an orphan raised in [DATA EXPUNGED], UK. Growing up, the orphanage was extremely under funded and resided is an impoverished area. There were no records of Jack's birth or his name, so the orphanage gave him the name Jack. He never had enough growing up; often going to bed hungry. Local gangs would regularly use the children for smuggling drugs. Having no records of his birth, Jack was a favoured target for smuggling. Being around drugs so often eventually led to Jack developing an addiction.

Jack's addiction only became worse over time leading to an overdose from crystal meth. Local law enforcement found Jack and had him hospitalised. During his hospitalisation nurses would routinely mock Jack, calling him 'Frost' due to his addiction. He was later transferred to a psychiatric facility. After six years Jack was released; being disgusted with the treated he received growing up. He began to pursue a career in medicine, dedicating himself to ensuring patients received better treatment. After rigorous study, he earned himself access to an education program from [DATA EXPUNGED] University.

(gore warning)

Having graduated from University Jack lands himself an apprenticeship as a paramedic. A few weeks in Jack and his partner get sent out to [REDACTED] after they received a call from a lady who saw a person crawling near the road bleeding heavily. Upon arriving at the scene, they saw a pool of blood on the side of the road but the body and the women who made the call were no where in sight. They decide to search the area for the injured person; noticing a trail of blood leading into the forest and followed it. Hearing faint groaning in the distance they began to run and eventually come across a man lying on the floor with his flesh peeling off his body. The injuries were so severe his ribcage was visible. Jack fell to his knees and threw up, horrified at the sight before him. His partner tried to help Jack to his feet but was stopped when he heard a noise just to the right of him. Suddenly some creature was dashing towards him, flesh dripping off its skeleton in chunks. It looked human. Jack screamed as the creature pounced on his partner ripping him apart. Terrified Jack ran, paying no attention to where, he just knew he had to get away. He kept running, pushing himself to near exhaustion. He didn't stop until he came across a man in a strange uniform lying on the ground with his arm broken, bone popping out his skin. He was still alive groaning in pain. Jack snaps back to his senses, pulling out his first aid kit to patch the man up and do what he can to stop the bleeding. When asked what happened to him, the man expressed some "animals" had assaulted him. He man tells Jack that he will be ok and to go help others that may be injured. Jack followed the man's instructions, finding many people dead and alive all in similar uniforms. Despite his best efforts, Jack only manages to stabilize three people. As he was trying to treat the last person, helicopters began to approach. Before he knew it military soldiers swarm him and the surrounding area brandishing guns and wearing a similar symbol to the people on the ground. A man wearing a dark suit approached Jack, asking him his name. The man has Jack ushered onto one of the helicopters as heavily armed and armored medics begin treating the other survivors. The two talk during the flight, and the man tells Jack about the foundation, offering him a job as a doctor. Jack agrees and so begins his journey with the foundation doing everything he can to ensure the safety and care of others.
