Why are you applying for the Chief of Security?
When I play on SCP-RP, I always play GENSEC. Despite having access to multiple SCPs, VIP roles, and more, I don't find it anywhere near as interesting as GENSEC. For this reason, I am passionate about the well-being of the department.
When I am playing as GENSEC I see plenty of leadership being displayed (although mostly from officers and sergeants), yet we still experience a lot of issues. My main objective in applying to GENSEC Chief is to assist the daily workings of GENSEC, and then begin to fix issues we're experiencing - whether those issues arise through old, ineffective procedures or somewhere else, I can name plenty of issues that I believe I could fix for the department.
In addition to the above, I would also like to help set basic guidelines for GENSEC Sergeants and Captains to follow when leading, to ensure that we always have members of staff where we need it - I unfortunately often see Captains or other Sergeants roaming around the facility while D-Block is a hot mess - and so my ambition is to re-shape guidelines to help this, without making these processes more confusing or complicated.
Since my very start in the department, my main goal has been to ensure that D-Block is orderly, and D-Class personnel is supplied to researchers in order to keep testing running effectively. Additionally, I ensure I am always courteous and professional towards all others - regardless of their rank or department. From working my way from cadet to officer to sergeant, I have been through this process countless times. This has also taught me a lot: Patience, effectivity in my work and more (I will detail this in the next section of my application).
I have always been methodical in my work, and would also be so if chosen to be Chief. I'd ensure we are remaining relevant and effective in D-Block, and I would work hard to implement changes and new features that would benefit the department. I would work to implement changes that positively impact all levels of GENSEC, and not "just" work for the higher-ranking officers. Additionally, I would apply my previous experience in leadership roles to the position, which would (in my belief) further benefit GENSEC as a whole.

What makes you suitable for Chief of Security?:
Although I do not possess any experience as GENSEC Captain, I do believe I have the necessary experience in GENSEC and the server to be a relevant candidate for the position of Chief.
Firstly, almost all of my playtime within the server is as GENSEC. I've played a little IA and SCP, but very little in comparison to the time spent in GENSEC. Not only has this benefited me in my work during GENSEC duties as I am used to how things run - but I have also stumbled upon issues that I would like to see improved upon within the department.
In addition to the above, I have often had to step up to lead my fellow GENSEC employees through riots, SCP "visits" and other turmoil - and I have done so with success. I have been commended previously on my efforts, and the faithfully following cadets and officers who work with me as I lead as GENSEC sergeant are also a clear indicator that I am respected in leadership.
Lastly, I am not particularly interested in specific MTFs or similar jobs currently but would instead continue my dedication to GENSEC if elected to be employed as the newest department chief. I would work tirelessly wherever I would be needed - whether that's escorting D-Block personnel to tests or doing administrative work, and I would never hesitate to help out.
I know how it feels to not have a voice, I would ensure that feeling does not continue within GENSEC.

What are the responsibilities of the Chief of Security in RP?:
The Chief of Security is, as the title of the job suggests, the chief GENSEC officer on duty. They are not just in charge of day-to-day operations but are also responsible for the overall well-being of their department. They are incredibly important in motivating their employees, and must actively engage with their department's senior AND junior members to ensure everything flows smoothly.
The chief is responsible for the department's image externally, as well. This means they must avoid breaks in ethics, satisfy the site administration's demands, ensure professionalism is displayed and deliver D-Class personnel to research - all processes that are vital to the department AND the foundation.
When the chief is not overseeing training, regular operations, etc. then they must be vigilant in discovering issues within the department that could be fixed - whether that be issues with our equipment or general procedures, the chief is responsible for "ironing out" these difficulties to increase the effectiveness of GENSEC. The Chief is, together with Captains, the department leadership responsible for being ambitious on behalf of everyone serving GENSEC - and must be passionate in their duties in order to execute them effectively.

Please give some lore about your Chief of Security character and what storylines they would be involved in:
John "Tex" Sackington is a 37-year old man, originally born in Texas (hence his nickname, "Tex"). He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as soon as his age allowed him, and was soon shipped out to basic training. Fast forward in his career, and John is sent with the USMC to Afghanistan, during operation "Enduring Freedom" under General John Abizaid. Here he served in Helmand province and has subsequently seen some of the worst combat one can experience in Afghanistan.
As John continued his work in the Marines, he became increasingly alienated from his work - feeling as though he was making less and less of an impact. He voiced these concerns during a humvee ride, like any other, through the Afghani desert. Little did John know, that a nearby intelligence operative has connections within the Foundation, and therefore recommended John for acceptance.
As John heard about his opportunities within the foundation and since he had limited connections in the US, he would gladly accept the offer to join the foundation in work that prevents global catastrophes on a daily basis.
John was never particularly interested in the research parts of the foundation, but quickly found his permanent home in GENSEC. John worked tirelessly in GENSEC, learning the ropes and improving himself - until he eventually became a GENSEC Sergeant.
John works daily as a GENSEC Sergeant who is truly passionate about his work. He is professional, fair yet firm - a combination he thinks has given him all the success he has experienced within GENSEC. He has ambitions to become the Chief of Security as the position recently opened, but also knows that his competition is fierce - and the ones in charge of making the decision will look into every single page in his file - but he remains faithful and motivated, as always.
