What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I believe I'm the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant for a few reasons. I am 'new blood' by some standards, a flaw, if you will, that I wish to face. It has it's downsides certainly, and I do not shy from them. Still, I believe it also has positive sides, being that I can bring a fresh perspective on things and the excitement of learning new things constantly helps drive my dedication to work harder to improve myself and conduct myself in the best possible way.

I have a good understanding of the FLC as an Inspector of ISD, plus some familiarity with how tribunals work. I have a good grasp of what the goals of Ethics are from engaging with the SCP universe through other formats. I work diligently when assigned a task, seeing it through in the end even if it should go awry, which also happens to be where some of the more interesting RP can be found; things would be awfully boring if everything ran as it should all the time, but it's also a very fine balance to walk, one that I think I do quite well.

What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:

- Reviewing applications for and conducting Tribunals on behalf of Ethics Members in cases they don't want/can't chair (Usually handling the more numerous lower-level cases)
- Assistants are the first point of contact for matters they think should be brought before the committee, and the matter is then either handled if it can be handled by the assistant or passed on if it is
- Being the eyes and ears of the ECM amongst the foundation when they are out and about, taking notes on the goings on in the facility and reporting back their findings to the committee should the situation demand it.
- Carrying out the orders of Ethics on their behalf, helping to make sure that the mission statement of Ethics is accomplished within the foundation
- Representing the committee's interest in smaller cases and disputes around the site so that the council can focus on the larger picture
- Acting as a 'paralegal' for ISD when there are questions or disputes regarding the FLC for both ISD's personnel and people being charged or are curious about the rules
- Helping out with other menial work for the Committee (Records keeping, report writing and other paperwork etc etc)

Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:

Name:
Jack Howard
Position:
Ethics Committee Assistant
Date of Birth:
11/05/
Nationality:
British

Previous Experience:
Mr. Howard has had an interesting tenure within the foundation in the most unremarkable sense, if his records are to be believed. Before his re-assignment to Site 65, Howard was stationed at Site-██. There, working as the clerk of the ISD, he served for ██ years. Co-workers described him as likeable and approachable, and often went to him for help, either personal or professional. They lowered their guard around him since most underestimate the clerks. They are just pencil pushers after all.

The majority of records concerning Mr. Howard's transfer have since been reclassified under Ethics Committee authority. Howard was reassigned following Incident ██- the details of which remain unavailable. Yet still unofficial speculation persists.

One recurring theory suggests that Howard submitted evidence directly to the Ethics Committee concerning the conduct of a senior Site official during the events leading to Incident ██- █. Whether the allegations involved procedural misconduct, unauthorised experimentation or violations of Foundation ethical standards and/or crimes against humanity itself remains unknown. Some think that his work as a clerk made the discovery of whatever might have happened possible. Whatever occurred appears to have ended several careers, with several of the Site Administration of Site-██ disappearing from official records within weeks of Howard's reassignment. No explanation has been provided.

Mr. Howard himself arrived at Site-65 shortly thereafter. Medical examinations conducted upon arrival document the traumatic amputation of the pointer finger on his left hand, extensive scar tissue across the torso and back and multiple healed fractures that leave mobility in his right arm limited. Any attempts to question what happened to him are met with a courteous smile before the conversation is redirected. A few speculate that whoever Howard might have reported got wind of it before the investigation concluded, leading to Howard paying a heavy price for his act, barely escaping with his life.
