Why are you applying for Director of External Affairs?
- DEA has been my main role for a long time, and I wish to take it a step further. I’ve seen many directors and have seen all their mistakes and everything great they did for the department. And I have been manager a few times now, and I believe I can make changes that will improve the department with all my past experiences since I first joined external affairs in 2023. And I wish to leave my improvement with the department as the rest of the directors have.
- Recently the quality of training and try-outs has been a bit on the downside, and currently I am the main one to go to for hosting them. I have seen many agents come through, and I wish to improve the stay with the department. As well as improving relations with other departments, which we have little of at the moment. I plan to change this by making more deals and operations with other departments to get more people involved. As Director, I believe I could achieve these goals. With this I am also now the main one in charge of operations and their progress therefore if I became director I would be better able to control these operations and create new and better ones to help the department with its low activity during working days.
- I also believe another regular, competent, and experienced director could benefit the department greatly by making people feel welcome and knowing what their duties are by having a more involved director in the training processes. And better operations with an aim towards more RP rather than shooting. I and i believe i could fulfil the role of director very well with all my past experiences.
What makes you suitable for Director of External Affairs?:
- I have held a managerial position for some time now and have been a manager before, and I believe I have learnt from my past mistakes. With being with the department for so long, I have learnt nearly everything about it and have gotten to know other people within the department and how best to improve it as well as handle situations. With this i am able to better understand agents hearing their concerns and voicing them like with recent the war there have been a few miss communications within department and with me understanding everyone i will be able to act on any issues and i can do this more effectively as a director.
- With being the most involved manager, IC is doing most try-outs, training, and leading DEA on and off surface operations. Meaning I have great experience in how everything should be run and good leadership skills that are critical to being a director. And being involved in most RP scenarios, I believe I have contributed well to them and improved my own RP skills and can also make good RP scenarios as director. I have already created a few new operations that aim on gathering information and improving agents skills in doing so and rewards on top to encourage them to engage on the surface instead of sitting in a compound therefore increasing surface RP.
- I also have a lot of ideas about more operations DEA could be doing and how best to get other departments involved, meaning DEA can also improve its relations with other departments. While also having good operations to aim for instead of wandering around the site. examples be asking RSD for production of more combat effective chems like speed drugs or immortal flesh due to the new opponent on the surface that being UN. We could also get combat medics more involved on the surface by letting them up more regularly to help with combat and healing wounded troops. As atm once we get in one fight we are nearly dead and don't have enough nu-7 medics to sustain us long enough to live through another fight.
- DEA is in need of some much-needed changes in recent times, and I believe I have what it takes to do it. I have already been involved with some of the most recent changes to the department and wish to keep improving it. This mainly being the try-outs and training with the most experience doing them. I believe i could achieve this goal by updating the current Induction system making it have more interactive parts like ID checking a look around surface to give them the layout of surface so they know where to go and where to be. And an OOC section for newer players about fearRP and FailRP to avoid accidental rule breaking. While also introducing a new quiz instead of one made up on the spot by the person doing them. Therefore increasing the quality of DEAs work .
- With this I quite regularly voice my any concerns within the department and ask questions and give suggestions for improvement where possible. With this I am not afraid to ask questions or give some answers to their own questions and listen to any improvement they suggest to keep the department up to date on what is going on and what needs to be done. I would be better able to voice the concerns of the department about ongoing operations with other departments. Giving DEA more of a chance to prove themselves and keep everyone happy and on the same page making everything go more smoothly.
What are the responsibilities of the Director of External Affairs in RP?:
- The directors are the main ones that see to the well-being and standards of the department. And therefore they are the ones that oversee the running of the department, making sure it runs at its finest, seeing to everything that needs doing, and making sure it is of good quality. While also making sure to keep the department in a healthy state with things for operatives to do while making regular improvements.
- They are responsible for creating RP for the department. Whether this be through operations or storylines or by cooperating with other departments or MTFs. As well as with other GOIs, whether this be with negations, meetings, or joint projects that can be hosted by the director to ensure healthy relations within the foundation and outside.
- They must manage promotion with CL4 DEA, ensuring they keep an eye out for any applicants that wish to also take their roles further within the department. While also making sure to induct them well into CL4, giving them everything they will need to know and how to do it. While also ensuring they are capable of performing everyday tasks without much intervention, allowing them to be left to their own devices and making their own RP and their own improvement to the department. But the director must always be open to questions and help them when needed. Ensuring every CL4 knows their roles and is comfortable doing it.
- They must manage relations with GOIs by negotiating peace talks, trade deals, operations, and new policies that could affect them. While also making sure everyone within the department is up to date on their standing with them and any deals that have been made and that they maintain their own communications to avoid anyone being left unanswered or being unable to give answers to their questions.
- To ensure department health by managing trainings or by hosting them and getting everyone involved in events and operations, making sure no one is left out, and making sure other management staff are doing the same.
