Why are you applying for Director of Research?
My time as an Executive Researcher has allowed me to enjoy further RP now in a leading position of the RSD, as well as pushing my roleplay to newer responsibilities. During my tenure I have taken part in departmental relations between the many other branches of site-65, leading to many fresh and positive relationships with departments such as the ISD, E-11 and GSD. With all of this in mind, I believe a leading position such as the director would help me greatly in continuing these relations and allowing a far more cooperative landscape for Research as a whole.

There is unfortunately a large gap in Research Leadership, with both directors gone and the Executive members dropping to such a low, there is much that I believe I can help improve. My major goal and reason for applying for this role would be to strengthen the leadership order and encourage new and talented researchers to strive for the role of Executive. I plan on eventually once again introducing sub-departments for the exemplary executives to express themselves fully, in the future.

While I have not been an Executive for all too long, I still feel that I have been within the RSD for a long enough time to strive for a position such as this. I have been the only active RSD leadership for over a week at the time of writing this and have a lot of researchers who trust and seek my assistance whenever possible. I plan on setting up many new ways to give the RSD incentives for roleplay, much like the previous directors “SCP of the week”. I wish to encourage researchers with certain perks such as special CL4 tests for good roleplay with both the SCPs and D-class. I wish to lead the RSD into more serious RP with a strong and supported Executive team that can support it.

Overall I am currently applying for Director due to both the current circumstance and my own ambition with the department and this is the best time for it.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

What makes you suitable for Director of Research?

From what I have both experienced and performed as an Executive, I can confidently say that I am a well known face of the RSD not only to the researchers that come for assistance, but with many other departments. I often busy myself with brainstorming ideas with many researchers about possible tests, assisting them in document creation and in testing itself, often trying to keep researchers as engaged as possible in their work. When I am not with researchers, it will be the ISD, E-11 and GSD that I am constantly keeping contact with in order to maintain the best relations possible.

For over a week now I have been the only RSD leadership on the server, despite being alone I have kept the RSD functioning well enough; large tests are going ahead, projects are starting with the SR researchers, cross-tests are being planned and sampling has not been slowed down. I believe the role of Director of Research would allow me to take my skills in both assisting and managing to a new level.

I often try to deal with “mingy” players in a different way to most, I have not once job banned someone in my time as an Executive, instead I have attempted to find a way to interest them in the department more, this has worked to an extent, most of “Minges” that I have met on the RSD have indeed stopped "minging" when I am around and have been taking their role in research far more seriously than before, some of which are now full on researcher mains who do good documents and fun tests! Job banning is of course required for those who do not try to better themselves, although I have not had this issue yet.

I believe I will bring a lot to the Department in both RP and fun. I wish to encourage CL1/2 RSD to keep up with their testing and stay motivated in their work by using the clairvoyance act accordingly. The gameplay loop of the CL1/2 Research players is always going to be a lot less fun than the loop of CL3, I aim at helping them find that fun and stay focused on what they can eventually take part in.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

What are the responsibilities of the Director of Research in RP?

The responsibilities of the Director of Research is to manage RP, Project creation, Department image and Departmental relations. It is also important to create changes within the department for improvement to RP and quality of life for testing. The DoR is the face of the department, with that comes the responsibility of maintaining a professional attitude and a friendly reputation. The major responsibility that a DoR must take on is to create long lasting and genuinely helpful changes to the department, the RSD is the most crucial part of the server, without happy researchers engaging in good RP and fun tests, the server health will suffer for it. GSD, D-class and the SCP player base will have little to nothing to do without tests going forward.

It is a directors duty to ensure that the RSD is working smoothly, as well as to manage and remove any possible roadblocks that can slow down testing. This can be in the form of E-11 Relations slowing down testing, ISD causing issues for testing due to FLC concerns, Ethical violations by research staff and many other possible issues that may cause testing to be bogged down. While the CL1-3 research staff are the backbone of the RSD and will be conducting most of the testing on site, it is also important for the director to ensure that the executive team is well supported in their ideals, weekly meetings, project assignments and overall encouragement is necessary to create a positive leadership team to help keep the RSD rolling.

[SCP FOUNDATION - PERSONNEL FILE]

Name: Morikas Benak Laritho.
Date of birth: April 21, 1993.
Age: 32
Place of Birth: ███████ Cambridge, United Kingdom.
Current occupation: Site-65
Clearance level: 4
Department: Research.
Date of recruitment: {REDACTED}

Background:
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Morikas Benak Laritho’s early years started with him being raised in an upper middle-class family. He was raised by his mother, █████████ █████████ and his father █████████ █████████. His family's status gave Morikas access to education within private schools as well as professional tutoring. At the time of his education, Morikas seemed to be showing no signs of becoming an exemplary student. Most of his teachers considered him to be below average and completely unable to concentrate on the work at hand. However, his complete disregard for learning was not in vain. Looking beyond the fact that he was not too sociable in school, didn’t have any friends to spend his time with, or no real escape from the monotony of life, Morikas always found a way. His primary escape during this time was a large forest, tucked behind his family’s grandiose home that expanded for miles.

In his early teenage years, Morikas would spend any free time he had exploring the forest. However It wasn't long after his trips that Morikas began speaking about finding a “monster” within the forest. Unbenounced to him, this “monster” was actually an Anomaly, not yet discovered or documented by the Foundation. Said anomaly, currently designated SCP-████, which is being contained at Site-██, is believed to have taken quite a liking to Morikas, based on the fact that this anomaly constantly asks for Morikas’ presence, and seems to act in a passive manner in his presence.

Morikas seemed to have a keen interest in the paranormal, often going into the woods late at night to track down and study this anomaly. He had a habit of noting down any relevant information he could gather during the brief periods it had made itself known to him. He observed the behaviours of the anomaly, such as its routines and interactions with the local fauna, as well as the anomalies interactions with Morikas himself. As the meetings eventually grew longer and longer, Morikas found new ways of communicating with the anomaly. This was frivolous at first, however using his ingenuity he found more advanced ways of communication.

These meetings happened over a period of approximately ██ months, with Morikas becoming accustomed to the existence of SCP-████ within his life. However, this ‘relationship’ wasn’t without its drawbacks. As SCP-████ slowly grew more and more comfortable with Morikas’ existence, it chose not to stay as actively hidden as it once had. The woods, once a safe haven for both Morikas and the anomaly, had no more area for the anomaly to explore. As it started grazing the borders, poking its head out once and a while, the anomaly was eventually discovered by the townsfolk. Reports started flooding in, almost comparable to the hysteria surrounding ‘Bigfoot’. This was no secret, and suddenly the town had a drive, if not mission, to figure out the true meaning behind these reports.

The lack of covertness, as well as the pounding reports on online message boards was enough for the Foundation to get involved. A small task force, designated ‘Epsilon-6 - Village Idiots’, was deployed to the town, tasked with a cleanup operation and to investigate the claims found online. During one of their routine scouting operations in the woods, they came across the anomaly. The woods, once a safe haven for the anomaly, served as the perfect backdrop to conceal the containment operation. At approximately ██:24 GMT, SCP-████ was contained and remanded into Foundation custody, with the remaining townsfolk amnesticated and any mention being wiped from the Internet.

Despite the thoroughness of these amnestications, there were still a few people that slipped through the cracks, these were mainly stragglers from a group known as ‘parawatch’, among those who managed to escape being amnesticated was Morikas. Morikas had noticed the disappearance of SCP-████ and stayed far away from the forest for weeks after noticing what looked like soldiers patrolling where he would usually meet with SCP-████. Missing his friend deeply, he would make sure to never forget them.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Morikas turned to continue his education with intense determination, but in his spare hours, he often delved deep into the depths of internet archives, such as the ‘parawatch forums’. Cryptid sightings and anomalous theories became an obsession of his, becoming known under many different usernames on various different message boards. He began trading all sorts of speculation and sketches, all circling around and back to one single obsession: the idea that not all anomalies were threats. By the time he had been admitted into the University of Oxford, the obsession of his spare time now entered his life academically. Over the years, he earned a PhD in Psychology and a DPhil in Global Governance and Non-State Diplomacy. Morikas’ blend of both emotional insight as well as diplomatic agility made him a standout candidate in the UK Foreign Affairs Office, soon being hired and assigned to help handle conflict mediation and diplomatic field operations.

Morikas’ methods often raised eyebrows among his colleagues and peers, he quickly became known for engaging in volatile and culturally bizarre groups with curiosity, calm and understanding, unlike the more rigid, by the books, approach of his peers. Many of his colleagues began referring to him as the “Emotions first operator”, in a semi mocking tone. As time went on, what had begun as an unorthodox reputation soon started showing genuine use. Within two years, he was recruited into the United Nations as a Junior Ambassador and set to work under the UNGOC.

There, for the first time since his childhood, Morikas finally had a chance to have contact with the anomalies he had spent much of his life studying, entities, artifacts and anomalous cultures he could not have fathomed were all suddenly his actual job to interact with. His diplomatic style consisted of an emotionally attuned, empathetic and sincere attitude. Unfortunately this approach was not something the GOC valued, many favoured commanding control over the situation, not communication. Morikas instead favoured coexistence.

Morikas continued his work within the GOC, ignorant to the watchful eyes of the foundation, who had seen promise in his work. During routine outreach operations between the UNGOC and the Foundation, Morikas soon found himself being approached while in private. A man dawned a black suit along with a hat that covered his eyes, a usual shady foundation member in Morikas’ eyes. The man spoke softly, carrying himself with an authority that demanded Morikas’ attention with ease. He knew many details. Classified details. He knew childhood locations, sketches Morikas had not shown a soul during his life. He knew about the raid. He knew about the creature.

Morikas was taken by surprise, shocked at the knowledge he thought to be so well kept to be so utterly out in the open. The man uttered no threats, his demeanor as comforting as one could be in a situation such as this. He instead spoke of the Foundation's watchful eye over Morikas, whom they had been watching for a long while. They now believe Morikas was ready to receive an offer for something more… Greater power, far broader authority then what he was given in his current occupation. Yet most important of all, a chance to work directly in the line of research involving the very entities Morikas had been trying to understand his entire life.

The answer Morikas had for this offer was not a decision, the answer seemed so clear to him. It was a call for something he believed himself made for. It was shortly after this meeting that he left the UN quietly and without regret. It was then that he was reassigned to site-65 where he then assumed the role of Junior Researcher. His time at site-65 hasn't changed his unorthodox approach to his work, however as he moved up the ladder of the RSD, so did his ambition.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Morikas soon reached the role of Senior Researcher not too long after his initial hiring onto Site-65, busying himself with interviews involving the SCP’s he thought to be capable of changing and being understood; SCP-049, SCP-7722, SCP-035 and SCP-076-2. Out of these SCP-035 has proven to be the hardest for him to work with, their answers are less than helpful and SCP-035’s seems to have taken a liking to Morikas’ visits, often outright refusing questions at times to force Morikas to make a second trip back later on.While this may bother other researchers, Morikas finds it as an improvement, in his eyes, it's simply friendly banter, excluding the common death threats and other profanity SCP-035 often hurls his way.

During the later stages of his tenure as a Senior Researcher, Morikas Laritho was noted once again for his unconventional testing methods. This time specifically was during his series of evaluation interviews involving SCP-035. During the end of one session, without any scheduling prior he was approached by a high-clearance foundation member identified only as “-10”. -10 entered the observation chamber entirely unannounced, accompanied by two undisclosed security personnel before proceeding to conduct an assessment of Morikas’ work. Subsequent to the encounter with -10, Morikas was temporarily reassigned to work on Project-███ ████ as well as being granted a sum of £100,000 for his work.

Morikas was visited multiple times by -10 over the next month, both in and out of tests to check in on progress Morikas had been making, soon enough Morikas began having slightly more casual talks
This attention given to Morikas caught the eyes of Omega-1, who took issue with -10s appearances.
This soon led to Omega-1 attempting to use Morikas as a tool to feed information to the ethics committee of -10s plans.

Morikas was invited into the ethics committee offices by a group of Omega-1, he had never had any negative interactions with the ethics committee and thus found himself rather comfortable when entering, this was until the questions about -10 began. When the questions started, they seemed far more serious and insidious then Morikas had expected, the aggressive and predatory tactics started right away. Morikas acted oblivious to -10s importance and shared nothing of interest with Omega-1, no matter how much they pried, he had no inherent loyalty to -10, however with each and every question proposed, he worried more and more about what the Omega-1 had planned.

Soon after these questions were deflected by the researcher, an Ethics Member by the name of Andrew Whitaker entered the room, stern, out of uniform and with his sleeves rolled back. Mr Whitaker quickly took over in putting forward these questions, the true nature of the Omega-1 in the room was soon shown, surrounding Morikas and holding him at gunpoint. Mr Whitaker began his line of questioning immediately, a trap and a threat in every word. Morikas once again assured Mr Whitaker that he knew nothing, keeping a panicked and confused act going that Mr Whitaker was able to pick apart with each passing question. Morikas was fearing for his life now, however no answers he gave even in half truths could persuade the Ethics Member.

Morikas’ pager sounded off, he glanced down at his tablet for a moment, a jumbled message showed before fading, “D̶͈͐o̶̗̿ ̵̻̐n̷̟̒o̴̥̕t̶̘̚ ̵̪͌g̸̼͗ĩ̴͕v̷̙͋e̸̦͌ ̵͑ͅȧ̷̻ṅ̷̟y̷͕͘ ̴̲̊ǐ̸̹n̴̺͝f̵̞̿ó̴̮ṟ̸̅m̸̯̈́a̷͍͠t̷͓͗i̷͙͆ǒ̴͇n̶̜͋”. His pager was soon taken away, the messages gone. Mr Whitaker grew impatient and ordered the immediate amnestication of Morikas. He protested but did not dare move under gunpoint. Soon he was escorted out of the ethics office having forgotten anything that had taken place.

Later on that week, Morikas was approached by what he perceived to be one of -10s guards, they did not speak, simply gesturing that he follows them.
Morikas followed the heavily armoured guard to the EZ before being given a passcode to a door, this had been standard practice with -10, so no questions were asked. However upon opening the door and entering, he was met with only the hum of ventilation shafts. Infront of him, sat on a filthy metal chair, was the corpse of an Omega-1 Operative. Panic set in, he turned to leave but the door was locked, he felt he was being watched, he searched the room for clues on what had happened, moments later, footsteps reverberated around the room, someone had entered. Morikas turned around to see an 2 members of Omega-1 with their guns pointed straight at him, one moved forward and detained him, blindfolding and gagging before dragging Morikas across site before sitting him down on a seat within Omega-1's bunks, a torture room of sorts.

As the blindfold was taken off, Morikas looked up to see a far happier looking Andrew Whitaker, thus an interrogation begun, trap questions and baseless claims, accusations of treason and murder. Soon the questioning moved onto -10 once again. Morikas stirred up a hatred towards everyone within that room, refusing or dodging any answer they threw at him, he bled for every word. Gunshots were heard just outside the room, a firefight that must have lasted 10 or so minutes before quieting down, Morikas had no idea where his fate would lead... In only 30 more minutes of tireless interrogation, Andrew Whitaker grew tired, deciding instead to put an end to Morikas himself, promising freedom and walking away, before turning around and landing a shot straight into Morikas' skull.

Morikas had been killed, as far as any Omega-1 or ethics member there, he was dead, no pulse, a bullet to the head... his word went black.

Soon Morikas awoke to the sounds of talking, everything a blur, his eyes opened barely, he was laid on a surgery table, as he looked around, he saw both the armoured guard from before, as well as what looked to be a man in chaos insurgent uniform, seemingly a doctor of sorts. The doctor turned around and approached the table, lifting a syringe from the operating table and beginning to inject Morikas with an unknown substance, the last thing Morikas saw before falling back into nothingness was a nametag... "The Engineer"

Morikas awoke with a sudden gasp, he looked at his surroundings, the medical bay, Site-65s medical bay, he sat up, everything flooding to him at once, his body felt wrong, aching all over, his hair now a bright shade of greyish white, his eyes void of their original colour and his body without any of the strength he once had.
He went back to work that day and continues to server the research department, however his trust for ethics and their members is all but lost, avoiding them at all costs, -10 still visits, however much more covertly now.

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Morikas’ day had begun like any other. A cigarette and a cup of ginseng tea before checking into the site. The day was bound to be just another blur to him; test approving, overseeing, document reviewing, grading, god forbid another arrest over at the ISD. The responsibilities of Morikas’ new role as executive was finally starting to settle in his psyche, He enjoyed it quite a lot and had gotten along quite well with the rest of the team he was now a part of. The Directors and other executives that welcomed him made it easier for him to get a hold of his new role.

During an overseeing of a test being conducted on SCP-035 by Sr researcher Marvin, the blaring of the code 5 alarms began, upon 035 hearing this, he refused any attempts for cooperation, eventually being put down, the E-11 rushed both Morikas and Marvin through the tunnels of HCZ and eventually into the safety of the breach shelter. The only thing between them and the chaos outside being the large steel door. Upon ensuring the safety of the researchers on site within the chamber, he was paged by a fellow Executive, Claire ‘Bonez’ Amelia apparently wanted to discuss a future test within the higher clearance level area of the emergency command center.

Morikas took his risks, slowly making his way from the breach shelter to the command center, soon reaching it before any trouble managed to follow. As Morikas entered he was soon greeted by Claire and with it, her barrage of ideas revolving her recent testing of 914, before anything she had said actually processed in his mind, the rumbling of the chambers doors took his attention, instead of the usual site advisor, a far more familiar face entered the room, the mysterious 05 member -10, had come to give him yet another job.

Morikas froze for a moment, before regaining his composure upon -10s greeting. Claire watched on as Morikas’ normal bravado quickly faded, a far more serious and worried tone only increasing with every word spoken by -10, the job was simple in the O5s eyes, simply bartering with O5-09 about an exchange in -10s stead. The specifics of the trade in question were not spared with Morikas, however he accepted blindly, he had not failed -10 before and he most definitely did not want to know the consequences of it. The worried, dreaded eyes of Morikas were quite the contrast compared to Claire’s intensely curious gaze, a gaze that caught -10s attention, soon asking if she would want to assist in such a talk, despite Morikas’ protests, Claire happily agreed to help.

Moments later, -10 started to take his leave, only to be stopped in his tracks by the site manager himself, Charles Whitmee stood at the entrance, arms crossed and with a stern look, asking for the identification of -10, upon getting no response, Morikas quickly intervened. In half truths Morikas did what he could to convince Whitmee that it was a matter he did not want to be involved with, the O5 member stepping back, watching the conversation unfold, Whitmee had his worries and suspicions of the situation, eventually relenting and walking away, however this was not the end of his involvement with -10’s presence on-site. Soon calling for -10s arrest for trespass onto site, although the search went nowhere, he was gone.

The chaos caused by this order was the perfect distraction, one of -10s A1 operatives arrived, leading Claire and Morikas to their meeting area. They were led to a door within the Entrance Zone, one that neither of the two had ever seen there before. A note with a passcode was handed to Morikas and without a word being spoken, the A1 departed. Now with a code, Morikas and Claire opened this door and entered, a thick fog bellowed out, blocking their vision as they explored deeper. Once they ventured far enough, the fog cleared, in front of them seemed to be nothing more than an old abandoned storage room, crates and equipment scattered across the large dusty chamber, in the centre stood a large steel door, old and rusted with a terminal on its left.

Morikas begrudgingly admitted his lack of expertise with site computers to Claire, although she had already darted towards it to begin accessing it, taking a short while to get used to the obviously dated interface she seemed to be all too familiar with. After a long silence only broken by the tapping of keys, Claire had managed to access the terminal, commanding it to open the gate in front of the two of them. Dust kicked up as the gears of the door set into motion, whirring and screeching as the old door separated and revealed what lay behind.

The two stood in shock as they felt fresh air hit their face, the door led to a floating mound of dirt that appeared to be floating in the sky accompanied by smaller mounds to be walked on. A large stone stood on the mound with the numbers 09 below an insignia. There was seemingly no end above or below and once again the contrast between the two researchers showed. Morikas’ fear of heights froze him where he stood while Claire rather excitedly took out her notepad and began scribbling anything she could down.

Eventually after enough encouragement, Morikas took the first few steps onto the mound, taking his time between glances to make the next few steps, soon reaching the stone, Claire following closely behind. Before anything could be said between the two of them a voice chimed in, a booming static voice belonging to none other than 09, Morikas and the O5 traded pleasantries before going on to business. The trade involved a transfer of Type-Red Reality benders, a total of ████ would be traded to -10 for a project unknown to Morikas, a number completely crushing on Morikas’ Psyche, however 09 was simply looking for anything that could be traded in return, money was out of the question.

The talk went on, Morikas trying to keep his cool, the sounds of scribbling continuing after every word. The talk soon delved into something Morikas never thought he would ever have to suffer. The trading of a friend, not close, but a foundation staff member that he had always seen around during his visits to the medbay, Sr Doctor ████ █████. He stuttered at nearly every word, a weight on his conscious that got heavier and heavier with every thought, he tried to direct the trade away from the doctor as much as possible, however as the talk drew on, after so many attempts, he managed to get a deal struck, the trade would go through, however he now had a weeks time to find a substitute for the doctor.

09’s voice now faded, a cold silence set in and the two made their way back down to solid ground, moving back through the fog, Morikas in a panic, Claire’s curiosity now satiated, the two of them went back to their normal duties. Soon Morikas liaised with -10 about the deal, worried about the trade of a staff member, -10 simply chuckled, this was not the first time. It surely would not be the last.

morikas has consistently shown that as an executive he has the capability to lead by example and create good rp interactions.

whenever i was on the server, all i would see him do was be in the trenches with the researchers and getting properly involved in what they were doing, teaching them through practical means and being a genuine mentor.

you're an idiot if you don't think he'd be an amazing director.

paired with the other candidate for this position, i think they'd do amazing work together. balancing off each other in their approaches to research and making the department truly the best it can be.

Imma just toss a curve ball, as of currently there is less and less activity when it comes to actual research (scp wise) how do you intend to better this? How do you intend to increase the junior rsd members?
Good question!

This issue has persisted in research for an extremely long time. When it comes to Jr researchers, their gameplay loop is incredibly mundane, most of it boils down to going back and forth between D-block and Inanimate objects. The SCP of the week has been a good way to keep already engaged research players active. However when it comes to Jr researchers the only way i can see anything changing for them, would be to actively encourage CL3 researchers to actively seek out and engage with Jrs, the clairvoyance act gives a lot of power to the CL3 players on site, they are able to take Jr researchers along with them for CL3 testing in the HCZ. Joint tests between researchers of various clearance levels can improve relations within the department itself. The Sr researcher roster will have a genuine use in keeping track of those who have been putting in good work for the department, hopefully encouraging this behaviour to become normal.

I must say that as of the past week I have been the only active executive/RSD leadership on site, I have attempted to keep research as active as possible during this time and I am sure when the Executive pool is able to resemble a real team of players, keeping players engaged should be an easier task. I will be trying many different angles as the path becomes clearer in the future. I hope I have brought some clarification to the question!
