What makes you the best candidate for Ethics Committee Assistant?:
I believe I’m a strong candidate because I prioritise the health of the community and the quality of our interactions. Also I’ve always preferred the more grounded, personal side of roleplay because it allows for actual character growth and meaningful rapport. I’m the type of player who tries to stay calm when things get heated, and I enjoy helping others resolve issues. I will say that i've always prefered the non-combative roles because they have more complex roleplay/interactions in which i have some experience as i've been playing as them since 2021 on gmod.
Having spent a lot of time helping other players as ISD and solve their problems I understand that the best oversight is supportive rather than purely restrictive. I see the Assistant role as an opportunity to be a helpful presence around, someone who adds value and detail to every interaction. My priority is to ensure that my involvement makes a scene better and more grounded, focusing on constructive guidance and only resorting to hard 'stops' when the situation genuinely demands it.
What are the responsibilities of Ethics Committee Assistants in RP?:
Ethics Committee Assistants act as the essential extensions of the Committee’s authority, serving as a vigilant presence across all Foundation departments. Their primary mission is to ensure that every operation from high stakes research to the containment of volatile anomalies, adheres to strict ethical protocols. Rather than acting as a simple roadblock, they serve as a necessary check on power, questioning whether personel's actions are truly justified or if they have crossed into unnecessary cruelty.
Instead of focusing on "thou shalt not," the Assistant focuses on "how can we?" They are the creative problem-solvers who find more humane alternatives for D-Class utilization or anomaly testing without sacrificing results. They are the diplomatic buffer between the Foundation's cold mission and the living, breathing people tasked with carrying it out.
Please give some lore about your Ethics Committee Assistant character and what storylines they would be involved in:
Nikolai Kirkow was raised in the industrial atmosphere of [REDACTED], Bulgaria. Growing up in a household defined by expectations and precision, he developed an early aptitude for navigating complex systems. He pursued his higher education with an aggressive focus, eventually securing a PhD in behavioral psychology and sociopathology by the age of 29.
It was Kirkow’s thesis on "Institutional Moral Drift" that initially flagged him for Foundation recruitment. Recognizing his ability to spot systemic rot before it became a crisis, the Foundation brought him into the foundation as a Jr. Researcher.
After nearly a decade of navigating the internal politics of the foundation, Kirkow was transfered. He sought a more volatile environment where the ethical stakes were higher and the anomalies were significantly more taxing on the personnel's sanity.
